Six US states now have bills to pause data center construction. New York just introduced a three-year moratorium. Florida's governor is publicly opposing them. Bernie Sanders wants a national freeze. The same AI infrastructure buildout that's driving $500B+ in annual capex is hitting a political wall at the local level. Energy costs, grid strain, and community pushback are real constraints. I get that this is good politics and I'm all for studying things. But imagine if in the 1920s-1960s we had been like "let's pause auto factory construction" (very energy intensive!) instead of...building the grid.

AI-related data center spend is on pace to cross a trillion dollars a year by 2030. Most people outside the industry have never heard of companies already making real money in this category, like $IREN and Penguin.

In 2002, @tamannasait12 and I were coding together at Cisco, back when you actually wrote your own code in vi (or emacs, if you were lazy). We were building manageability and observability tools. It was the messy aftermath of the dot-com bust. Nobody above us seemed totally sure what came next. Our corner of the team got through it because we clicked. Tamanna never treated a problem as too big or too small to just go solve.

Data centers are essentially the new factories of the AI era. And we are severely underestimating the positive economic impact and job growth these facilities bring at the local level.

A data center isn't just compute It's a financing vehicle that pulls power generation, grid, chips, and construction along with it. One buildout drags a dozen adjacent industries forward. We have to keep building.

As we build out these AI Factories at GW scale; procuring space, power and GPUs is just the first step. Maximizing the Return on Investment (ROI) requires continuous optimized software and hardware availability and ensuring we deploy and bring-up the AI Factories in days and not after months of debugging.
