Russia is essentially playing on sovereign AI efforts due to so many sanctions. They are a very different society altogether. GigaChat is basically their ChatGPT-style LLM (built by Sber - largest bank in Russia) and it is especially optimized for Russian language and context. To even login on GigaChat, you need Sber ID (you get only if you a have a Russian mobile operator SIM card.)
