@BenMulroney Mark Carneys “leadership” is spreading across the caucus, complete, unmasked contempt for Canadians.

Called it on my show: this government was going to try selling us that because their deficit came in below projections, somehow it can be MacGyver’d into “we have lowered the deficit”. I have a lot of respect for Ms. Church, but this makes me think she doesn’t have much for us.

Can someone ask Mark Carney this: As an economist, you know that you can't use CPP and QPP assets for the Federal debt, so why do you use them in your calculations to lie to Canadians that our debt position is better than it is?

Canada currently: -21% of employees work for the governement. -has a sovereign wealth fund (using debt) that only provides "regulatory support" to government selected projects. -An infrastructure bank, that also does the same. -Build Canada Homes, which uses tax dollars to build homes. -government grocery stores popping up. -The party in power is offering extra cash for ridings where the MP betrays their constituents to cross the floor and give the ruling party more power. Tell me again how we are not communist.

@KirkLubimov If past actions are the best predictor of future actions then expect everything this fund is involved with will have net zero based assumptions. It’s less of a fund and more of a green siphon.

Mark Carney announces a sovereign wealth fund: Canada Strong Fund. It seems like it will be opened for Canadians to invest in it as well. It's a good idea in general and many countries have a version of this. US under Donald Trump as well. I rather Canada take ownership stake in strategic projects than foreign countries. The problem is that Canada doesn't have "wealth" so the fund will be funded with more deficits, all while not getting rid of the red tape and rethoric that scares away private capital to begin with. If this fund's capital execution has any net zero based assumptions then it be highly inappropriate and your sign for what this is really about.
