Part of the great 'Logic and Computation in Philosophy' series (Oxford University Press), the masterpiece 'In the Light of Logic' by Solomon Feferman (The recipient of the Rolf Schock Prize in philosophy and logic) is a must read. Both for students of philosophy and of mathematics, this book is a great way to get your foot in the door of many of the great questions concerning the foundations of mathematics. The chapter on Godel is a short and well written version of the work that he's done on the Godel collected work series, and I particularly liked and recommend reading, chapter 7 'The logic of mathematical discovery versus the logical structure of mathematics. The only flaw for me is that the book is in fact a collection of essays, which lead to a certain amount of repetition which felt rather unnecessary, at times.
