In 2x01, Cheese says “Maegor’s tunnels… Great big rat’s nest, it is.” My theory was that since Alicent has a rat motif in the show, and the tunnels are referred as a rat’s nest, maybe she would be the one to use the secret tunnels in season 3.

Grrm never called him "morally" Grey. He literally explains right after w words like unpredictable self centered and fickle. To him grey means we don't understand the true motivations of this character
