I don't want any confrontation on this post. Just getting my feelings out. If you don't agree just pass this by........ I'm going to vent here...I believe we all have the right to worship as we please, but I also know that our country, the United States of America was founded on Christian principles. I believe we should be proud of our country. A quote is a quote. It should not be amended or watered down. The news should not be afraid to use someone’s quote that refers to God. On the "Today Show", one of the wives of one of the Navy Seals killed along with the US ambassador in Libya was being interviewed. He asked her what she would say to her children about their dad and how she would want them to remember him. Her answer, and I quote, "His love for Christ", and then continued on with a few other things. Throughout the day and on the MSN homepage, replaying the story, they have edited the "Love of Christ" part out. Why? Because using the word Christ might offend someone! Well now, it's my turn to be offended! I'm offended that they would edit it out. Offended that Christians are asked to tread lightly so as not to offend someone of another religion. This man loved his country and loved God and gave his life for both. This Founding Principle is actually embedded in our Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” I hope every Christian or every person that believes in God who is offended will copy this and paste it to their status.... NEW: Tulsa, Oklahoma, has unveiled the state's first-ever "musical road" that plays "This Land is Your Land" when drivers drive over it. The new feature can be experienced when drivers pass over the Southwest Boulevard Bridge. The taxpayer price tag works out to about $5,800 per second of music, totaling $110,000. Drivers are told to drive about 35 mph to get the proper experience. The noise is produced by grooves in the pavement that create vibrations felt and heard in the car. Cool.

ON THIS DATE IN 1977: A large, violent F5 tornado began around 3 pm CST, 4 miles northwest of Birmingham near U.S. 78, and then traveled northeast for 15 miles at 60 mph, crossing the Smithfield Estates neighborhood and then I-65. At its widest point, the tornado was 3/4 of a mile wide. Over 150 homes were damaged with almost 50 destroyed. A total of 22 people were killed with over 130 injured. The famous Dr. Theodore Fujita followed this massive tornado and supercell thunderstorm from an airplane. After tracking the storm, Dr. Fujita surveyed the damage and toyed with the idea of rating the Smithfield tornado an F6. Daniel Payne College near U.S. Highway 78 sustained heavy damage from this massive tornado with estimates over $1 million dollars. The college, opened in 1880, later closed its doors in 1977, likely a result of the enormous cost and amount of damage. There were six other tornadoes on this day including five F2 tornadoes and an F3 tornado across North and Central Alabama. Soon after the F5 tornado tore through the northern part of Birmingham, the same thunderstorm complex was responsible for the crash of Southern Airways Flight 242 in Georgia. It was a flight from Huntsville to Atlanta. The passenger jet went down after suffering hail damage and losing thrust on both engines; 63 people on the aircraft (including the flight crew) and nine people on the ground died including a family of seven. Twenty passengers survived, as well as the two flight attendants. One of the initial survivors succumbed to his injuries several weeks later.

Today at the airport, I witnessed a moment I'll never forget. A soldier was asleep on the floor while her loyal dog sat on her, guarding her whitout moving. It was such a powerful scene, it truly brought tears to my eyes. 💕

Thousands of synchronized drones lit up the night sky during Good Friday to tell the Gospel story in a powerful, modern way. Absolutely breathtaking!
