@stephenfry You were a dear friend to my uncle and a very important part of his life. Thank you for being such a great long time friend to him. It is heartbreaking that he is no longer in this world with us.

John Sessions was a long-standing friend of the Eye, the finest interpreter of Sir Herbert Gussett (private-eye.co.uk/eyeplayer/play…) and the man who introduced the phrase "Luvvies" to the magazine. RIP.

I was very shocked to wake up to a phone-call this morning about the sad passing of #JohnSessions. As well as being one of the funniest people, he was also someone my husband and I counted amongst our closest friends. His loss has hit heavily and today everything feels surreal.

In the months before his passing #JohnSessions narrated the audiobook of our charity anthology #AfraidOfTheLight. This was his last project & fitting perhaps that a book which supports @samaritans should have been read by a man so good at listening & committed to helping others.
