@kamilkazani His attention-seeking anti-woke trap for Hillary Clinton when appearing on a panel with her is all you need to watch to understand he's coming from a different direction than you suggest.

@kamilkazani Macinka is a special nutcase. He is our wannabe JD Vance, self appointed anti-woke champion of free speech. His aim is to shock and appeal to the 10-20% of hardline anti-muslim voters here.

Please notice, that it is a very Eastern European perspective. We're white people, western & civilized. But our immediate neighbours we're fighting with are dirty subhuman savages whom no rules of engagement can apply to That's how *everyone* to the east of Berlin Wall thinks

Czech Republic Deputy Prime Minister Petr Macinka: Israel is a civilized country surrounded by uncivilized enemies. They judge Israel with their liberal democratic eyes. If you behave like that, you wouldn’t exist.

@NivAvraham3 @RichardHanania Nope, this is a direct effect of LLM use. The drop in reasoning quality was scary palpable last year, when the first bachelors who had AI their entire study entered masters. Tbh it frightens me every day.

@SecretCFO Yep. And while you can train an intern to avoid mistakes and produce consistent outputs, you can't train an LLM not to hallucinate.

CFOs are going to have to think differently when reviewing AI-produced work. Shit work performed by humans most often looks and smells like shit work. Easy to spot. Shit work performed by AI can look and smell like great work. Hallucinations delivered with confidence, beautiful formatting, fake citations, etc. That's a new threat model... one CFO’s aren’t used to. How CFO’s review work internally (THE core skill for serious CFOs) is going to have to evolve fast. Strap in... there will be plenty of embarrassing headlines before many figure this out.

I respect @ezraklein a lot, but this is dead wrong and frankly a baffling thing to say. Charlie Kirk was the *epitome* of our modern brand of poisonous politics. Ezra tries to make the point that he went around to college campuses to debate people. And that's true, for a very tortured version of the word 'debate'. But Charlie Kirk was not trying to build bridges. He was not trying to reach a common understanding with his opponents in the way that Ezra himself does. He was not operating in good faith, and his goal was not respectful two-way conversations where both sides can grow and change. Kirk's goal at his college 'debates' was not to find experts on tricky issues of culture and policy and then have a Socratic dialogues and learn from them. His goal was to find a purple haired nineteen year-old sociology major with more feelings than sense, and then dunk on them. He wanted to farm clips he could use on social media to make his opponents look ridiculous, and he was good at it. When I think about how social media has changed politics for the worse, Charlie Kirk and his style of engagement is one of the main protagonists. We live in a heavily polarized era where the parties hate each other more than they have in decades and political violence is on the rise. And while it might be distasteful to say it directly after he was murdered, Kirk was one of the people driving that hatred and that polarization. He taught his audiences to hate and fear their opponents. He egged on the public's worst and basest instincts. He flirted heavily and repeatedly with the idea of political violence. It should obviously be said that none of that justifies killing him. Anyone who advocates for political violence is no friend or ally of mine. But for a man who wrote a book called "Why We're Polarized" to look at Charlie Kirk and say that he practiced politics the right way is delusional.

Hello everyone, Last month, I launched a fundraiser to provide engineering equipment for Ukraine, but due to low donations, I had to pause and reassess. Today, I’m relaunching the fundraiser and want to share an example of the impact of the machines we provide. Please share and donate (link at the end). 🎯13,000$/120,000$ This video showcases a PzH 2000 howitzer with crew quarters, built using an excavator we supplied to the 43rd Artillery Brigade a year ago. The video highlights the size of the position—it’s massive—and with the excavator, it takes just one day to dig. Without it, the same task would require 2–3 weeks and eight people. These machines are often overlooked, and their importance is underestimated because they aren’t considered "new tech." I know this work may seem mundane and unexciting, but it’s what saves Ukrainian lives and protects equipment worth tens of millions of dollars. I’m currently fundraising with @LibertyUkraineF and @toonie_tuesday to purchase two excavators and a transport truck to deliver them. This equipment takes time to deliver and repair, with a goal of completing the transfer within two months after the fundraiser is fully funded. The machines will support the 72nd Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Please share and donate using the link below Donation link 🔗: paypal.com/donate?campaig…

For the record. Since 1994 Ukraine already has guarantees of independence and inviolability of borders, also from Russia. In addition, on 22 April 2004 Vladimir Putin solemnly ratified the Treaty on the Russian-Ukrainian Border. Suffice to respect them and the war is over.

There is a hilarious thread where russians are talking with Grok about Ukraine. It's so funny that I want to share it with a wider audience. It is in russian, of course so I will put screenshots from it here. Enjoy 😊 🧵 1/

No military solution? We haven't even tried: no commitment to helping Ukraine win; indecisive delivery of aid; weak efforts to disrupt Russian oil export to India/China; zero pressure by POTUS on Putin. Yet, Ukraine has stopped Russia after 11 years. Give them the tools to win.
Secretary Marco Rubio@SecRubio

.@POTUS has been abundantly clear the Russia-Ukraine war must end. At today's NATO-Ukraine Council meeting I reiterated that there is no military solution, only a diplomatic one.

Five things to remember about war: 1. Many things reported with confidence in the first hours and days will turn out not to be true 2. Whatever they say, the people who start wars are often thinking chiefly about domestic politics 3. The rationale given for a war will change over time, such that actual success or failure in achieving a named objective is less relevant than one might think 4. Wars are unpredictable 5. Wars are easy to start and hard to stop

Auschwitz Memorial
Auschwitz Memorial@AuschwitzMuseum·
Tattooed numbers were used only in one German Nazi camp — Auschwitz. These tattoos were assigned exclusively to prisoners who were registered in the camp. Out of approximately 1.3 million people deported to Auschwitz, only about 400,000 were registered as prisoners and given numbers. The vast majority of Jews murdered in Auschwitz — around one million people — were never registered; they were murdered in gas chambers right upon arrival and received no tattooed number. Moreover, tattoos were not exclusive to Jewish prisoners. Others — including Poles, Roma, Soviet POWs, and others — were also registered and tattooed at Auschwitz. Other concentration camps had entirely different systems for identifying prisoners and did not use tattoos at all. To suggest that every Jewish victim of the Holocaust received a tattooed number — and to use the limited length of those numbers to cast doubt on the scale of the genocide — is not only factually false. This kind of distortion is a deliberate tactic used by Holocaust deniers to insult the memory of victims. In the world of deniers, the suffering of real human beings is reduced to cynical wordplay and harassment. Denying is an assault on memory, truth, and human dignity. Learn about strategies employed by Holocaust deniers to spread misinformation and falsehoods. Online lesson: lekcja.auschwitz.org/negacjonizm_en/ Podcast: auschwitz.org/en/education/e…

You & @JoeBiden denied Ukraine the capabilities it needs to win. You kept Ukraine out of @NATO & NATO out of Ukraine. In so doing, you appeased Russian fascism -- a gift to the Kremlin. All in all, yours is a mixed legacy & a strategic failure.

In the wake of Russia’s unjust, full-scale invasion of Ukraine, I assembled an international coalition of some 50 countries to help Ukraine fight for its freedom. I'm proud of everything we accomplished to ensure Ukraine has the capabilities it needs to defend itself.

Thirty years ago, the United States persuaded Ukraine that it does not need nuclear weapons and gave Ukraine "security assurances." Today, the United States is persuading Ukraine that it needs to give up territories, forget about NATO membership, and lower the conscription age.
