Following the passing of former President of the Republic and veteran Liamine Zeroual, the Presidency of the Republic has declared a three-day national mourning period, starting today, across the entire national territory and in diplomatic missions abroad, with flags to be flown at half-mast. May the deceased rest in peace and be granted a place in the vastness of Paradise.

Ambassador Sabri Boukadoum welcomed students from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia at the Embassy, as they prepare to represent Algeria as the National Model at NUMAL 2026. This comes as part of their participation in the 43rd season of the Model Arab League simulations. The meeting highlighted Algeria’s key role within the League of Arab States and its vision regarding current regional challenges. #NUMAL2026 #Algeria

بمناسبة الذكرى الـ64 لعيد النصر الموافق لـ19 مارس 1962- 2026، نظّمت سفارة الجزائر بواشنطن وقفة بحضور السفير صبري بوقدوم وأعضاء السفارة. وقد استُهلّت هذه الوقفة برفع العلم الوطني تلاها قراءة فاتحة الكتاب ترحّمًا على أرواح الشهداء، في أجواء مفعمة بالفخر والاعتزاز. وبهذه المناسبة، استحضر السفير بوقدوم التضحيات الجسام التي قدّمها الشعب الجزائري في سبيل الحرية والاستقلال، مشيدًا بالدور المحوري الذي اضطلع به جيش التحرير الوطني، إلى جانب الجهود الدبلوماسية والسياسية التي تُوّجت باسترجاع السيادة الوطنية كاملة. كما أكد السفير بوقدوم على أهمية تعزيز روح التضامن والوحدة الوطنية بين مختلف فئات المجتمع الجزائري اليوم، باعتبارها ركيزة أساسية لمواجهة التحديات الراهنة، وترسيخ سيادة الدولة وصون استقلال قرارها. On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of Victory Day, commemorating March 19, 1962- 2026, the Embassy of Algeria in Washington, D.C. organized a gathering in the presence of the Ambassador Boukadoum and the staff of the Embassy. The ceremony began with the raising of the national flag,followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of the Martyrs in an atmosphere of pride and solemnity. On this occasion, the Ambassador Boukadoum recalled the immense sacrifices made by the Algerian people in their struggle for freedom and independence, highlighting the pivotal role of the National Liberation Army, as well as the diplomatic and political efforts that culminated in the full restoration of national sovereignty.
