This Cash and Carry in Mamelodi, that’s owned by foreign nationals, has a fraudulent Certificate of Acceptability for food premises and a fraudulent fire compliance certificate. In addition, they have no trading licence and this building was built without municipal approval. The owners have damaged municipal infrastructure through an illegal water connection.

Tshwane-owned water tankers are on the road providing water to residents. We recently announced that we are abandoning contracted services for water tankers. From 1 April, City staff have been working to provide water to residents in need. We visited Hammanskraal hydrant collection points this morning along with Ward Councillors and MMC for Utility Services Cllr Frans Boshielo.
While work is underway to stabilise water supply through infrastructure maintenance and repairs, residents must continue to receive adequate water supply. All these efforts form part our Water Stabilisation Plan that’s backed by funding from the City’s budget. @CityTshwane

This brings the City’s fleet to 41 municipal tankers. This forms part of a deliberate shift away from an outsourced model that proved costly and difficult to manage. Good luck to him with the review process. I dont know many people who have managed to have a SIU Tribunal ruling overturned. I can only think of 1 particular case.

JUST IN: A statement from Bonelela Mgudlwa on the SIU findings. He says he does not agree with the findings of the tribunal. He states that his wife @Anele has no connection to the issues under scrutiny. The Mpumalanga PPE tender worth over R14 million was declared invalid and unlawful. The owners of the company are said to be Katleho Mokonyane and Bonelela Mgudlwa, who were ordered to pay back profit earned. #sabcnews
