@thepearjoseph Gay and Lesbians have long been welcomed into the UK . I have Gay and Lesbians friends. However Gay and Lesbian spaces have also been invaded by Trans. Trans Women ( men) are now looking for Women and claiming they are Lesbians etc.

It is scary how the specific news sources and social media algorithms people see every day can completely warp their perception of reality. 2 lesbians and a gay man at my job are discussing fleeing the country and moving to Europe because of how “scary and unsafe it is to be gay in this country right now.” Genuinely have no clue what they’re talking about.

All of the subgroups in the gender-critical space- TERFs, “LGB without the T” gays, the sexology crowd, etc.- have their own blind spots that limit their ability to see the full picture. Each group overlooks or downplays certain aspects of the issue either unintentionally or because the parts they’re ignoring don’t support their preferred narrative.
