Great news for those who mourn the passing of botany courses. Henslow’s groundbreaking five-week course from 1827 was the inspiration for Charles Darwin to be able to take Henslow’s place on the voyage of The Beagle. Cambridge are to offer a 4-week course using archive material.

Lianas are beautiful too! Transverse sections reveal the patterning of xylem tubes, reflecting how so much stem space is devoted to transporting water skyward.
