Chelsea being intelligent in the transfer market and don’t want to get into a bidding war. Chelsea had an unbelievable deal with Paramount lined up but the PL got cold feet, not our fault. Chelsea finally unearthing young talent that prevents us from having to buy them in 3 years time for 10x the price. It’s optics. You can choose to kick the club you support, or you can choose to support them and understand context in every situation. Ultimately the choice is yours but this is an new era and it’s time to put the past behind us and try and see the positives that are happening at the moment. Spot the difference……

Palestra is a unique profile. 6ft 2, quick and technically very good. Best defender in Serie A last season and can play both as LWB and RWB. The fact that he is ambipedal is a huge bonus. This would be a huge indication that Alonso will play with wingbacks and that Gusto will probably leave. Win win…… Make no mistake. This is an Alonso signing if it happens.

Why is everyone desperate to see Trev leave when we have Tosin and the 3 French baddies who are all significantly worst than Trev and on higher wages?

30 million for the most reliable backup CB Chelsea has is why the fans deserve to suffer.😂 Why would you sell Trev for 30 million? Just keep him. Low wages , likes the club, and happy to come off the bench. You are not finding a better replacement for 25 million.

Trev to Como would be a great move for him and if we can get £25-30 million then most parties would be happy.

Nmecha is so strong, agile and quick. I know Chelsea are a big fan of his. One to keep any eye on.

I think Gittens will actually excel next season under Alonso but he isn’t overly versatile so you would have to have the LB invert which might work with a Barco potentially. I like Godts, Maza, Ndiaye and think they all could work. My biggest thing next year is Alonso team isn’t about have stand out players. It’s about attacking and defending as a team. Something we have rarely been good at and exposed on both sides continually. Even though his G/A isn’t great, I do think Ndiaye would excel in that role for us. He is easily the most versatile and has prem experience which is what we need. I don’t think Rogers would have been good at the wide element to the role and that’s why I didn’t want him.

And without the ball, they must still work back into wide areas - less central responsibility defensively.

I actually disagree. It’s the one position I don’t think we need to strengthen. We have Palmer, Estevao and Quenda who are all left footed and can play in that inside RW/10 position. We really lack a player of the same standard who is right footed. I agree we need more quality but weirdly Paz isn’t ‘needed’ Doesn’t mean if we got him I would complain as I am sure we could find a way to make it work but it wouldn’t be a signing we need, more want.

@SonOfChelsea I agree in principle and our main aim is to have 3 dead cert starters who improve the team instantly. A lot depends on who leaves and how replace them too. Too often our depth has been mediocre.

Another way to look at #CFC being “slow” in window is when this recruitment team get busy, bad decisions are made. I would rather 2/3 precise moves that raise floor/ceiling of squad than 5/6 samey additions that only add to clutter.
