In war, you do not start with forces; you start with what you are trying to accomplish. Only then do you determine what kind of force is required. Right now, that clarity is missing. lnk.thebulwark.com/4sKtu6g

It has long been known that foreign intelligence services, with the active involvement of Hungarian journalists, have been intercepting my phone calls. Today they have made a new โ€œmajor discoveryโ€: they proved that I say the same publicly as I do on the phone. Nice work! For four years we have been saying that sanctions are a failure, causing more harm to the EU than to Russia. Hungary will never agree to sanction individuals or companies essential for our energy security, for achieving peace, or those with no reason to be on a sanctions list. However, the wiretap list is not complete. I have also regularly consulted with foreign ministers from several non-EU countries on sanctions-related matters.

โ€œThere are players who are working to destabilize the situation in the country.โ€ โ€” Yury Krupnov, a Russian public and political figure Note: the โ€˜perfect stormโ€™ that Krupnov says will hit Russia in May refers to a prediction he made in early February of this year. It reads: โ€œThe โ€˜perfect stormโ€™ will hit in May. It must be prevented. Judging by the economy, as well as the rapidly accumulating foolishness and mistakes, the situation is spinning out of control. The components of a perfect storm are rapidly increasing: 1. A โ€œholeโ€ equal to a quarter of the budget by mid-year 2. Blocking Telegram and the breakdown of communication inside Russia and with the world as a whole. At the same time, there is an โ€œoptimizationโ€ of the remaining social state 3. The โ€œstench of Anchorageโ€ (the continuation of the special military operation, the use of American and NATO weapons, sanctions, arrests of tankers, etc.) Urgent โ€œsmartโ€ measures are required, but they are not only absent โ€” they are not even understood in terms of which known structures could theoretically develop such measures. After all, it is necessary to move beyond the consequences of 40 murky years that have systematically undermined the countryโ€™s social and economic system... โ€œPerfect stormโ€ is a term used to describe a situation in which several extremely unfavorable factors converge at a single point and, overlapping with each other, create a massively amplified negative effect.โ€

Tonight here in Bucha, we are holding a night of remembrance. 561 civilians were killed here over 33 days of fighting and Russian occupation. Across the entire territorial community surrounding the city, more than 1,000 people died during that time. Hundreds were shot by Russian soldiers, and the bodies of many lay in the streets and against walls for weeks, until Russia's defeat and the return of Ukrainian forces to the city, along with the global media. And the name of this comfortable, prosperous suburb of Kyiv among the woods became a shocking symbol of atrocity and inhumanity, images that went around the world. This is the church in the center of Bucha, next to which a mass grave of 67 bodies was found. During the occupation, people buried their dead as best they could -- like this, in a pit beside a church. Every day I can see that church from my home in the distance, and every time, I remember how we were present at the terrible exhumation of that enormous grave. That's something I would want to forget forever. A memorial complex now stands on that spot.

Ukrainian special forces carried out an incredible operation โ€” they allegedly stole several fully fueled and armed combat aircraft directly from Russian airfields. HUR pilots stormed the parking areas, neutralized security, and flew the aircraft to Ukraine. Impressive footage has already appeared: Russian Su-34s and bombers with Russian markings are seen landing at Ukrainian airfields under the escort of Ukrainian fighter jets. Russian sources reported that, over time, 59 aircraft and helicopters were stolen, with some of them ending up in Ukraine. This was reported by the Russian outlet Izvestia, adding that some of the aircraft were later used in the war on Ukraineโ€™s side against Russia itself. Because of this, the FSB has reportedly carried out a series of searches within Rosaviatsia as part of related criminal investigations.

Another Russian Z-patriot is starting to ask uncomfortable questions of his government. Pavel Kukhmirov is a Russian blogger and author who fought in Donbas in 2014โ€“2016 to bring โ€œRusskiy Mirโ€ to Ukraine. This is what he writes: โ€œIt may be that there is a point in not explaining anything to oneโ€™s own country at war. There may even be some, undoubtedly important, state reason for not speaking to it at all. If so, then please accept my deepest apologies, most respected โ€œstatesmen,โ€ but after the strike and the disabling of two ports in the Leningrad region (located on the opposite end of the country from the former Ukrainian SSR), I personally, as a citizen and taxpayer, have a number of questions which, with your permission, I will voice. 1. Why have the ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk (which were struck once) ceased operations, while the port of Odesa (which has allegedly been under attack for several years) is functioning and, overall, seems to be doing quite well? 2. Why, on the fifth year of the war, are the government buildings in Kyiv and other administrative and symbolic objects of the Ukrainian regime still standing? 3. Why are all representatives of the Ukrainian regime without exception still alive and seemingly in good condition (especially in light of the real terror against our generals in Moscow, public figures, and pro-Russian activists in the new regions)? 4. Why, after many months of methodical and widely publicized strikes on the enemyโ€™s energy infrastructure, does it still exist and show no obvious signs of disappearing? Where and how, in that case, were these strikes actually carried out? 5. Why is the general who received the Hero of the Russian Federation Star for the liberation of Kupyansk and reported this to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief still wearing it, still in the same rank insignia, and generally free (considering what that entire story ultimately turned out to be and how it ended)? There are many more questions. But these are the minimal and most pressing ones, for which I, as a citizen and taxpayer, would like answers. Thank you in advance for them. P.S. And in this photo are the ports of Odesa and Ust-Luga. Just donโ€™t confuse which is which.โ€ The text was published on the โ€œRIA Katyushaโ€ TG Channel
