Piece of advice: if you are a parent, watch out what the Finns are doing and copy them. It's one of the few countries that pays closer attention to their youth. They observe, study, and adjust all the time! For example, they are now gradually reversing their decade-long, tech-heavy education model to combat declining cognitive performance and severe classroom distractions. Schools are scaling back on devices in favor of printed textbooks, handwriting instruction, and pen-and-paper assignments.

@nobodyknows2322 He probably thinks it's good for his circulation. Finally, real people will hear about Hasan Piker, instead of the bot armies paid by Singham, Xi, and Putin.

I'm beginning to think the Feds subpoenaed Piker as part of their opening shot here precisely because they knew he'd sing like a drunk canary about everything on his podcast.

The death of “russian studies” partially explains how comically awful the US has been in its recent dealings with russia. Combine that with the fact that this current Admin hates expertise and sends used car salesmen to “negotiate”, and you have a perfect storm of incompetence.
Ruth Deyermond@ruth_deyermond

One of the things that rarely gets discussed in public but is widely discussed among scholars of Russian and Ukrainian domestic and foreign policy is the limited institutional knowledge of these subjects in western govts, think tanks, universities, and media.

Veterans For Responsible Leadership
This is embarrassing. Why don’t you reach out to the Platner campaign and hear their side of the story instead of just trashing him in the media? You were once a Marine. You know that some veterans struggle with PTSD after getting out of the service. You know people can make dumb mistakes and grow from them and can become better people in the end. @grahamformaine is the best candidate in the race for VA healthcare and to end the reckless forever wars. He deserves to be judged on the candidate that he is today and what he will do as a Senator for the people of Maine moving forward and not on the mistakes he made in the past, which he has already taken accountability for. Defeating Susan Collins is the goal and it is imperative for our country that her career ends this November.
Jake Auchincloss@JakeAuch

Susan Collins is a rubber stamp for the worst admin in history. Claims that I would endorse her, implicitly or otherwise, ignore my track record supporting Democrats to take back both chambers. As I said months ago, I find Platner's Nazi tattoo and his commentary about it personally disqualifying. If it were me I'd vote for someone else in the Maine Democratic primary. Regardless of what happens in Maine, Democrats need to take back the Senate and I'll keep working hard to make it happen.

Tale of the tape: He’s been overvaluing his companies for years. Lying for years. Now, combining shitty companies with the good ones to prop them up. Those who’ve been solid on fundamentals will be fine: writing has been on the wall for a long time. It will all implode.

I read all 277 pages of SpaceX's IPO filing so you don't have to. Losses up 700%. Revenue decelerating. 107x price-to-sales multiple. It's a trainwreck. Full breakdown below 👇

Okay, but Googled USED to be able to do that, before they literally admitted that there is no reason to have a functioning seaech system, because people googling things 2 or 3 times, is more profitable than googling it once. They have purposely dumbed down the rest of the entirety of the internet, stripped search engines, and are using this new "evidence" as to why we should have AI.

Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it. Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying. Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence." Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter." Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter. They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created. One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility." Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies. That's the metered intelligence business model. And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.

@AaronRegunberg What is a "corporate Democrat"? Tom Steyer seems like one. Bernie Sanders promoted John Fetter and Tulsi Gabbard. Is that "populism"?

Leftists have spent our entire lives holding our noses to support shitty corporate Democrats over Republicans as the lesser evil. The Auchincloss wing of the party sees one populist win and they're already declaring they hope Republicans keep control of Congress. Vichy traitors.

@rochowanski Yes. It must be "NAFO" that has brought acrimony to Ukraine. Not Russian war, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Oddly, being a Russophone has not spared any Ukrainian citizen from Russian attack.

4 years of NAFO language class has taught them to yell fucking bitch and Slava Ukraini in the worst, most cartoonish accent possible at an old man who has visibly had a hard life and whose country is now being obliterated by war. An allegory of Western policy towards Ukraine. 2/2

Platner's promoters can clearly win the Democratic primary in Maine. But can they win the general? And if they win the general, can they assure anyone that Platner won't be another Fetterman, Sinema, or Manchin? After all, Sanders is an independent.
