I don’t care if this is an unpopular opinion or not: the soldier who traded Polymarket with classified information was absolutely wrong to do so. There were honest bettors on the other side of his bets who lost money. They did not have the benefit of the same information.

That was this one guy. It could’ve been the opposite. Just because his motives weren’t to sabotage the mission THIS TIME doesn’t mean he won’t next time. Or another soldier that sees he got away with betting for success, can rightly see how easy it would be to bet against it. That might even yield a higher payout. I seriously can’t believe you are acting like this is NOT a problem. Our soldiers are WAY ABOVE THIS TYPE OF ACTIVITY. It was dishonoring to his fellow soldiers. They ALL take this hit.

The Texas RGV border was like this for years. Women ONLY moved in packs. Schools on constant lockdown. Families take turns staying awake ALL NIGHT to keep guard and watch.
