I received a call last night from a great Jewish friend of ours from one of the most prominent and respected Jewish Familes in Britain. Without any undue drama or exaggeration he told me that he simply no longer felt safe in Britain. In fact he had had a discussion with his wife this week as to weather he should take down the Mezuzah from his front door due to not wanting it known that in an affluent central W1 London terrace street that a Jewish family lives there. I asked him a simple question. Out of all the people that could become Prime Minister in this country WHO among them would actually restore Law and Order in our capital and WHO would make it safe for him again? Serious point: people should get to a basic standard of fitness so they can evade knife wielding lunatics, terrorist attacks and aggressors. Not to fight, but to run. They should also learn basic situational awareness on stuff like public transport. Clock your fellow passengers, don’t sit with your back to strangers, especially weirdos, think of exit routes, establish the vibe, stay away from anything or anyone untoward, don’t bury your head in a phone, be alert. It becomes second nature when you get into it. And it might just save you a load of grief - or indeed your life. This is not scaremongering. It’s 21st century West.
