Ordinarily I do not care jot about football, but I totally love the World Cup. I can think of nothing else that gives such shared team spirit, sense of unity, sheer humanity in joy and stress, like it. Every bar and pub and back garden and front room filled with people cheering. The World Cup is absolutely beautiful.

When a 78 year old woman is murdered in her own home - a place that’s meant to be the safest place of all. YOU don’t need to preface your condolences with, “I didn’t agree with her political opinions.”
It’s OK to simply say, “What a horrible way for someone to die. I’m horrified, and I send my best wishes to her friends and family.”
