@coughdropsh @hwurmp yea our meadowhawks are pretty easy as well, i guess cardinal and autumn look pretty similar, but their leg colors and wing markings are a bit different plus cardinal r more late spring early summer, while autumun are well autumn :P

@hwurmp Ohhh I see. Well I still think ours are fairly easy to distinguish from each other, meadowhawks are much more tricky than clubtails tho. But for the most part I only ever see variegated meadowhawks or band winged meadowhawk and I feel like those look quite distinct

@hwurmp @coughdropsh No, we don't have the diversity here for it to be annoying as hell, in OR the most common species is caridnal meadowhawk and Pacific clubtail

@coughdropsh poorly worded; i meant clubtails are hard to distinguish from other clubtails and meadowhawks are hard to distinguish from other meadowhawks

@fairieteeth Oregon has a lot of national forests that you can camp in for free. I've spent a ton of time just going up random roads and trails, and sometimes you'll find some gem places that no one knows about. Many of our counties are extremely under birded (especially east of the cascades)

people who live in the west, where do you go when you want to go birding, hiking, camping, etc? public parks? national parks? blm land? somewhere else? i always see people in the west posting pictures of nature and it just looks like neverending natural beauty
