With tonight's win at IND, the @DetroitPistons have clinched their first 60-win season since 2005-06 and the third 60-win season in franchise history. Detroit became the first team in NBA history to go from 60+ losses to 60+ wins in a two-season span. The Pistons will host Game 1 of the First Round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs @LCArena_Detroit on Sunday, April 19.

After locking up home court in the East the Detroit Pistons will finish in the #1 seed slot having held it for 73 straight games. They took over first place at (7-2) on November 7, 2025 and never once relinquished it.

Ausar Thompson: “We all came back the next year, and with all the turnover, it was just like a fresh start. Nobody forgot though. At training camp, we all were on the same page that we wanted to change the way we did things, be more locked-in in practice, and do everything with more detail. Tim played in the championship the year before, so him and Tobias especially, they would get on the young guys if we were bs’ing. If we shortcut anything or weren’t locked in, they would be like, ‘This isn’t how winning teams do it.’ The vets really wanted to see the young guys be successful and teach us how to do it the right way, and I feel like that made the biggest difference in our culture. Tobias had played with Detroit before, and the last time he had played with them, they were in the playoffs. So he was always saying, ‘Detroit needs to see playoff basketball again.’ And yeah, I guess that just really stuck with us. Tobias said it so much that I started to believe it, too. The NBA announced today that @DetroitPistons forward Ausar Thompson was named Eastern Conference Defensive Player of the Month for games played in March.   Thompson (6-7, 205) recorded 32 steals in March, 2.5 per game, and recorded a career-high seven steals in a win vs. Golden State on March 20. Thompson recorded three-or-more steals in six of 13 games played in the month, led the team with a 101.6 defensive rating, and led the Eastern Conference with 46 stocks (STL+BLK) in the month in the month of March.   Thompson, 23, ranks first in the NBA this season with a career-high 2.01 steals per game and 4.4 deflections per game.   Earlier this season, Thompson became one of just four players in NBA history to record at least 1,040 rebounds, 420 assists, 275 steals and 145 blocks within the first 180 games of a career.
