But it's OK, cos a handful of buses per hour will use the new tunnel 🤔

Burdett Road is also on the route of the stalled Hackney to Isle of Dogs cycleway, which'd give a safe, north-south connection through the borough, linking homes and jobs. What's so bad about that, @towerhamletsnow ? How did the good folk of Burdett Rd and Grove Rd hurt you? 🫤

Would have been nice for @thameswater and @towerhamletsnow to provide an alternative crossing during these works on Burdett Road...

As others have pointed out, there are @TfL crossings (including here in #TowerHamlets) that don't even have green man phases, so pedestrians have to dash and hope. But money that could be used to fix these is being spent on subsidising driving. Think again, @MayorofLondon!

The consultation on refreshing the transport strategy is likely to happen this autumn. And transport will be discussed at the Overview and Scrutiny Committee at 6.30 this (Tues) evening - you can watch it here: towerhamlets.public-i.tv/core/portal/we…

Council priorities include: - Delivering 1,000 more car parking spaces - Avoiding 'penalising' those who drive - 'Reopening' the roads (they *are* all open, to people) - and some vague support for public transport and clean air, despite the contradictory focus on driving 😕

They're talking transport at the council tonight, ahead of a refresh of the borough's transport strategy, which could see some rolling back of safer streets initiatives - we will be keeping an eye 👀
