One piece I need to write this year is on the completely fabricated notion, held widely across the spectrum in the US, of London (by extension ‘England’) as a cesspit of violent crime when the data (which I recently looked into) not only does not support the ‘knife crime epidemic’ narrative but shows every major city in the US not only more violent and with a highly likelihood of getting you stabbed despite the proliferation of firearms.
It’s bizarre to me how American liberals and racist MAGA types are on the same side of this narrative.

Gene correctly points out that whether you think genAI is good or bad, this emboldens people to use AI in their workflows. It's concerning that Valve requires devs to disclose their use of AI on their store pages, and the most critically acclaimed game of the year didn't do so.

Was a queer trauma narrative handed to a machine because paying real actors is too hard? Fix this, or I personally will not work with you as an actor EVER AGAIN on any of your dubs. This is not ‘the future.’ This is erasure.
