A church switched from giving branded mugs to first-time visitors to donating meals to a local rescue mission in their name. Their connect card completion rate went from roughly 15% to almost 95% (@refugechurchlc on IG). The gift changed from "here's our logo" to "we did something meaningful on your behalf." Turns out their community responded to generosity, rather than merchandise.

Comp update: Kirk Cousins will sign a five-year, $172 million deal with the Raiders that in reality is a one-year, fully-guaranteed $20 million deal that also contains a club option for two years at $80M. The Falcons will pay Cousins $8.7 million this season, the Raiders another $1.3 million and Las Vegas also agreed to pay its new QB a fully-guaranteed $10 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2027 new league year. And maybe most notably, it also sets another new mark: this will be the 11th straight NFL season in which Cousins’ contract will be fully guaranteed.

@griffingulledge @ZackDiPrima I just read his chapter on intimacy with Christ over programs and thought that was pretty convicting. Sure it’s a practical book and I’m only 3 chapters in but he sets the stage well. If revival starts with intimacy w/Christ is pragmatic I’m all for it.

@D7ones_ Somewhat correct but that’s where your perspective will change. When you’re 18 you entrust yourself to coaches who should make decisions that keep you safe. Yes, I signed up. At the same time, they should be responsible for player safety.

Just because I identify as a purple elephant doesn’t make me one. Being a Christian means something. Belief in the trinity, substitutionary atonement, Jesus as Lord etc.
