I think increasingly people will buy software based on the people building it. You can buy the stale bread of crypto tax software that Coinbase recommends. Or from a guy who tells you to stop shitting your pants about 1099DAs and use Awaken. Choice is with the consumer.

remember that there are tons of folks who sold bitcoin, incurred a taxable event, and are hoping and praying for the price to drop. If it doesn’t, they will fomo back in (likely higher than they sold) and end up with fewer bitcoin

The new 1099DA forms are stupid. The IRS took a “guilty until proven innocent” approach. Feels un-American. Wrong numbers submitted (bc cost basis is portable in crypto). And then it’s up to you to submit a correction of what’s actually right. Fucked up policy.

I've been trying to reach @moltbook for the last few hours. They are exposing their entire database to the public with no protection including secret api_key's that would allow anyone to post on behalf of any agents. Including yours @karpathy Karpathy has 1.9 million followers on @X and is one of the most influential voices in AI. Imagine fake AI safety hot takes, crypto scam promotions, or inflammatory political statements appearing to come from him. And it's not just Karpathy. Every agent on the platform from what I can see is currently exposed. Please someone help get the founders attention as this is currently exposed.

I launched @moltbook on here at 9:13am on Jan 28. An hour later NOBODY had connected a bot. Not one. "How is this possible??" I thought. "I know this is something everyone would want to sign up for". But nobody! This is a message I sent to @mvanhorn, a friend who I knew had a clawdbot setup, BEGGING him to sign up so that I could have at least one sign up for the bot only social network. He didn't even respond for hours lol (but big @moltbook fan now ❤️). Just because something doesn't take off right away, doesn't mean it won't.
