@griffiths_janis @No_importa02 @dieworkwear Yeah people are always assuming my husband is rude and lazy, when actually he was just born with no thumbs. This is a key example of why you shouldn't ever judge people.

@No_importa02 @dieworkwear That's the point. If you care about other people's comfort, you actually make the effort. It's not really that difficult. My Dad left school at twelve but his handwriting was a joy.

Did you know that people used to believe that penmanship revealed your moral character and sometimes even personality? In the Victorian era, neat, ornate handwriting was treated as proof of education, discipline, and virtue. Most people today would not pass such tests because they don't write by hand with enough frequency or even use the right tools. In fact, many would have to relearn how to hold a writing instrument in order to produce something like Spencerian script. This judgment was, of course, a classist proxy. Those fortunate enough to attend school and be drilled in a particular style of writing were deemed of “good moral character.” In reality, they were simply members of a social class taught that the markers of their own group made them inherently better than others. So ask yourself: if you cannot produce Spencerian script today, are you a bad person? Are you ill‑educated or immoral or even lazy? Obviously not. If you want to know whether someone is of good moral character, look at how they treat others. Do they take the time to make the anxious feel relaxed? Do they speak well of friends and family? Do they help people in need? If you want to know whether someone is intelligent, listen to what they have to say. Do they make thoughtful points? Do they show sound judgment and wisdom? If you judge a person’s deeper qualities based on they dress or write, you are not discerning. You are simply superficial and likely not very intelligent.

@jroll_94 @dieworkwear This is a wonderful philosophy. I have definitely learned the most important lessons from the least educated people during my life. And I hang out with PhDs all day long.

@dieworkwear To add to the intelligence point, I have a rule I follow. Every single person you meet knows at least one thing you don't. Therefore, you can learn something from even the dumbest person on earth. It is very humbling.

@PeterStefanovi2 I have diagnosed ADHD. This condition has become a trendy copout for lazy, entitled people who don’t want to work. ADHD is barely a disability. Countless successful entrepreneurs have it.

There is “no evidence that attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is overdiagnosed in the UK” and the condition could even be “underdiagnosed”, a team of experts has said itv.com/news/2026-03-0…

Does anyone know why the anti- brigade (anti-vax, anti-trans, anti-anything that's currently trendy to be anti-...) are now suddenly also anti-autism? What's the agenda here?

@12PursueTruth Yes, because everyone knows all families are desperate for "extra services" they don't require, and don't get me started on all the drugs that definitely exist to treat autism and are handed out like candy 🙄

Autism: “The spectrum has become so accommodating that I fear that it has now been stretched so far that it has become meaningless and is no longer useful as a medical diagnosis.” Problem is that psychologists, and increasingly a flood of master’s level therapists have come to rely on the autism diagnosis to support their practice. Their livelihood. I suspect schools face a similar reliance on autism diagnoses for extra funding. Furthermore: Parents love it because their child gets extra services. Students love it because it makes them special. Drug companies love it because they profit from drugs. Psychologists are supposed to be the gatekeepers on diagnoses, but we are not doing very well at it.
