In Angangueo, Michoacán, Mexico, hundreds of devoted participants carry heavy nopales and cacti on their backs during the Procesión del Nopal — a powerful Holy Week tradition held on Good Friday.
As an act of penance and sacrifice, they endure the painful spines digging into their skin to commemorate the suffering and death of Christ, seeking spiritual purification and redemption. ✝️

Matt Dinniman, author of Dungeon Crawler Carl, has choice words for The Critical Drinker:
"I regret that my books have any association whatsoever with him. I hope one day to have his part in book three removed all together. It's a distraction, and the only edgelord douchebag I want people to think of when they read my books is the AI itself."
Why did he feel the need to do this?

@LucienGreaves @steveo Christ is King. Even you agree subconsciously simply by worshipping demons. Not too late to repent.

@WallStreetApes 6 billion. They won’t stop for nothing. Way too much money will be diverted to their personal lives from that 6 billion.

@pirooooon3 Taiwan is a post WW2 historical anomaly just like East Germany was. In 2026, as Solomon observed, Taiwan is whatever China says it is. It would be far better for the world for Taiwan and China to work out some sort of deal like Hong Kong did.

@josh_avraham @MiddleearthMixr If Jesus says it’s wrong it’s wrong. HE is King after all.

@MiddleearthMixr the money changers and animal sellers in the temple were doing absolutely nothing wrong

I have seen very little of the chosen but their portrayals of Jesus yelling at the Pharisees go so hard

@chicagobulls The official word.
JI needs support and help from his loved ones. I sincerely hope he gets it.
Faith and religion is an individual thing and not a problem but you can’t criticise groups of people such as the LGBTQ+ community and think it is ok. It is not.

So, here's the thing.
Tolkien himself struggled over the nature of orcs.
Although their orcish existence is inherently wicked, their essence as created beings in Eru's world is good. After all, evil cannot truly create. For this reason, Tolkien seemed to believe that, at least theoretically, an orc could be redeemed, however unlikely. Whether they are corrupted elves, as in the Silmarillion account published by Christopher, or something else, their most basic essence must ultimately come from Eru. Here is what Tolkien says in a a letter to Peter Hastings:
"They [orcs] would be Morgoth's greatest Sins, abuses of his highest privilege, and would be creatures begotten of Sin, and naturally bad. (I nearly wrote 'irredeemably bad'; but that would be going too far. Because by accepting or tolerating their making – necessary to their actual existence – even Orcs would become part of the World, which is God's and ultimately good)."
With that being said, a philosophically and theologically interesting story could be told of an orc's redemption, but I highly doubt that is what is going on in RoP. If this rumor is true, I predict we'll be getting typical postmodern slop.
I want to be wrong, but I would be surprised if I were.

@AAetheralf11016 @fwskiiii And he will get to smash prime puss while she gets showered with love and wealth. Win win.
English

@fwskiiii Yeah, that's a bit much.
3 whole decades ahead of her means that he will be aging 50-80 while she ages 20-50.
Long term relationship is kind of out of the question because he will be in his twilight years when she is literally in her prime years.

@GemPoaster @FromKulak That’s what I was thinking. Nobody I’ve ever met was ashamed of our actions in ww2.
English

@FromKulak this is completely fake, "western kids" are not "ashamed" of nuking japan lmao where is this from
English

Boomers don't get that the nuking of Japan has replaced the holocaust as the crime western kids are ashamed of... Because:
A) It happened
B) The Japanese loved us anyway and forgave us. They aren't building hiroshima museums to try and guilt white kids into bombing Korea.
