I saw a couple of clips of TheBurntPeanut, that were entertaining.
I don't care that he doesn't fit the traditional idea of what a VTuber is. A lot of VTubing is toxic anyways and people can't even agree if PNGTubing is VTubing or not.
Award shows are stupid popularity contests, so pushing the community to vote explicitly "to piss of VTubers" stings, but it's a strategy that worked.
It sucks how VTubers are still perceived as "annoying anime girls who do content for degens" instead of content creators that express themselves using a virtual avatar, instead of their face.
The disappointing part for me is that he's someone who streams with people like Nickmercs, so it tells me enough about him.
Again.. VTubers are more than corpo anime girls and it's good to see that it's no longer just a niche, but a style of expressing oneself.
It's not that deep. He won. Awards are stupid. Nobody actually fucking cares, it's just an easy way to farm drama.

Alright, did some research, here’s what I’ve found out about TheBurntPeanut: - the “I hate VTubers I’m not a VTuber” thing is a bit, but ofc when someone blows up in popularity and starts attracting a wider range of audiences, you’re gonna get people who unironically agree with this bit. - he made his own filters it’s not like he just used a filter from another platform. He even has either outfits for his PTuber which honestly is pretty cool. - again, I feel that a lotta VTubers understand that VTubing is a niche within a niche. If you have never heard of TheBurntPeanut before the awards show, many other could say the same thing about the other VTuber nominees. - the Bungulators that actually hate VTubers seem to be a loud minority, so if you see any Bungulators spreading hate know they aren’t real Bungulators o7 That being said: - the first impression a lotta people got from Peanut’s community is that they hate VTubers, and the most popular clip peanut has in relation to the awards is of him encouraging his chat to vote for him specifically to piss VTubers off, and that he doesn’t feel like he’s a vtuber… which is certainly a first impression. I don’t think we should judge him for it though TLDR: it’s not that deep.
