🍑💖 gyaru of the week #1: kogal 💖🍑 starting off with a well know classic~ ✨ kogal (コギャル) is one of the most iconic gyaru substyles, popular in the 90s in japan 🇯🇵 it’s centered around high school fashion: think shorter skirts, loose socks, and styled uniforms 🎀 but kogal isn’t just a look, it was a whole youth movement..known for being bold, trendy, and a little rebellious, going against traditional expectations 💋 kogals also helped shape gyaru culture through fashion, slang, and even early phone trends (decorated phones, charms, etc.) ✨ if you watch anime, you can see kogal/gyaru vibes in characters like galko (please tell me! galko-chan), yukana yame (hajimete no gal), marin kitagawa (my dress-up darling), and ijichi & amane (gals can’t be kind to an otaku?!) 💖 this is just the beginning… there are sooo many more styles to explore ♡ who’s your favorite kogal? ✨
