I can see both sides of the argument. If they politely said something like, “Hey, I might need to adjust the volume,” that would be totally fine. But if they said it in a rude way just to get a reaction out of you, I can see how that comes across as disrespectful.

I lost a 4-year friendship because of one sentence on stream. We’d known each other since the Fortnite days. We grinded together and eventually drifted to different games. He went his way, I went hard into VALORANT. We were even in a content team together before it died. Fast-forward to me switching from VALORANT to Dead by Daylight. Mid-stream, someone asked who got me back into DBD. I casually named two creators who inspired me. Right on cue, my friend jumped in chat: “Tell me you were inspired by me.” I didn’t even hesitate. “Nah, it was actually these two guys,” and kept rolling. He instantly dipped from the stream, unfollowed me everywhere, and that was it. Friendship over. I just sat there like… “Alright, if that’s how you feel about it, cool.” 😂
