Today I attended the Memorial to British West Indies and South African men who gave their lives in defence of King and country during WW1 as part of the RN group.

I’ve just visited NIS Group in Aston, a brilliant training provider working across the West Midlands, including in Selly Oak, with 19% of their intake from our constituency. They help people get back into work through careers in infrastructure, rail, and construction - and they’ve got a real focus on supporting veterans through discipline and hard work. It was fantastic to meet staff, some of whom are ex-forces themselves, and learners who are gaining the skills they need for long-term employment. A big thank you to the team - and to Dave Carns - for the warm welcome and for the vital work you're doing in our communities.
