Last night for Lagos Mainland, ehn... I for don cry blood 😢
Around 11:30pm, I just dey come back from work, small traffic for Ikorodu Road, I drop for bus stop near my side. As I dey waka the short distance to my street, two guys just appear from nowhere. One block me for front, the other come from back. Before I fit even shout, them don snatch my phone and the small cash wey I get for pocket.
I swear, my heart nearly comot. Dem say make I no shout, say na "operation". I just stand there like mumu, thinking na so e go end.
Then suddenly, from the dark corner, like 4-5 area boys (the real ones wey dey control that side) rush out. Bros, the way dem descend on those two thieves ehn... I no even understand how dem take know. Dem beat those boys like say dem steal from their mother. One of the area boys even collect my phone back sharp sharp and the money too.
The leader just look me and say: "Oga, this kind time you no suppose dey waka alone for this area again. Next time enter bike or call person."
Dem warn the two thieves seriously, collect their own small things too as "fine", then tell them to run. One even pursue them small with slap.
Me? I just dey thank them dey shake. Gave them the little change wey remain as appreciation. Dem no even collect much, just say "make you reach house safe".
Lagos na wa. The same "area boys" wey people dey fear, na them save me last night. No police, no vigilante... just street sense.
Lesson: Sometimes the "bad guys" na the ones wey go protect you for mainland at night. Respect to those boys.
Make una dey careful out there abeg. Lagos no be joke.
