That’s what Bengaluru-based startup Openwater.ai, a spin-off from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), is making possible. Their compact plug-and-play treatment systems use controlled electric fields to pull pollutants out of sewage and greywater, cleaning it without chemicals or complex filters. The units can treat 250 to 50,000 litres of wastewater a day and can be installed in just one day.
