As AANHPI Heritage Month comes to a close, we’re carrying forward the lessons of those who came before us: Build community. Organize for change. Find joy. Together, we can build a better future for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders across the country.

The Trump administration created an “Office of Remigration,” named after the fringe far-right plan to expel minorities and immigrants from Western nations. This term is synonymous with ethnic cleansing. They’re not even trying to hide their intentions anymore.

The 1885 Rock Springs Chinese Massacre is one of the most horrific and shameful acts of anti-Asian violence in our nation’s history. And for too long, it's gone unacknowledged.  That’s why today I introduced a resolution recognizing the massacre, condemning efforts to erase or distort this history, and honoring the contributions of Chinese immigrant laborers who have helped build the United States -- despite enduring exploitation, discrimination, and violence.

If you're working in this country, raising your family, paying taxes and following the rules - none of that matters to the Trump Admin. This policy will force legal immigrants to leave their jobs and their families for months, or even years, just to apply for a green card. It doesn't make sense.

I'm urging President Donald Trump to approve California's request for a Federal Emergency Declaration in response to the ongoing toxic chemical incident, known as the “Western Incident,” at the GKN Aerospace facility in Garden Grove, California. The severity of this disaster requires additional coordination and federal support. The safety, security, and well-being of evacuated residents and the surrounding communities remain my absolute highest priority.
