A few weeks ago I thought Gerry McNamara was still a year away from a bigger job. But the way Siena pushed Duke changed that. A former Syracuse guard now leading the program just feels right. Like Providence, college hoops is better when Cuse matters. Hope it works out.

Sources: Syracuse is working to finalize a deal to hire Siena coach Gerry McNamara as the school’s next head coach, per me and @jeffborzello. McNamara won a national championship as a player at Syracuse and led Siena to the NCAA Tournament this year.

#BREAKING: Providence is hiring USF’s Bryan Hodgson as their next head coach, per source. Sources also confirm that Hodgson recently declined an offer from Syracuse, citing a lack of NIL resources and fan support. Regardless, the Friars finally get their home-run hire. TCU gets robbed of 2 points on a blatant missed goaltend. Jamie Dixon rightfully loses it → tech. Duke gets rewarded with 2 points That’s a 4-point swing off one missed call. College hoops has to fix the goaltending mess.
