Did I think Duke was going to lose? No, but you can’t sit here and tell me the gap between the top teams and the rest of the field is “insurmountable” right now, and if you do you don’t have eyes and or clearly didn’t watch the quality mid-major teams play this season.

The amount of people that try to diminish what Miami OH is doing is amazing. And I'm not here to say they are the best team in the country and that they should be a one seed, that would be insane, but they finally got a shot against a power conference team and won by 10. These guys are showing they belong.

@inflow55 How does Siena’s performance today not at least show that these teams can compete? Will we see FAU vs San Diego State again in the Final Four? No. Is the landscape as chalky as last year made it seem? I also think no. I think it’s between A and B.

Where’s there a rule that says only one thing can be true. Why can’t it be both that Duke is injured and not 100 percent and that Siena is a solid mid-major that showed perhaps the gap between the best teams and the rest isn’t as huge as many make it out to seem?

It’s both, Siena is legitimately a good mid-major team with a strong defense and Duke is clearly being impacted by injuries. In most cases it isn’t just one or the other, it is a bit of both and in this case it is both.

So your argument against the 11th place ACC team is the 11th place SEC team that lost even more games? I actually don’t disagree that Auburn would have played better than SMU, but you see how that argument doesn’t give me great conviction that you are right?
