@tiberiusfiles Like it or not, Iran is on the precipice of scoring the greatest military and geopolitical victory in the history of humanity. Tomorrow will mark the end of the Western dominance and define the next several hundred, if not thousand years, with Islam as the dominant religion.

as I have been saying for 2 weeks.....and in recent days all of the "experts" are saying, this would be the most suicidal military move... 1. Iran is not going to just allow a convoy of MEUs with a few thousand Marines through the straits to get to the island. We are in a war, they will sink them 2. An airborne assault out of Kuwait, or a fucking airborne parachute drop as the other option is ridiculous 3. The island is 15 miles offshore from the mainland...literally in fucking MORTAR range at least.....drones and missiles and artillery will just pound the tiny "excursion" of troops on a tiny island that has no bunkers, no where to hide 4. Zero logistical support for any troops that actually get there What the fuck are we doing?
GeoInsider@InsiderGeo

NEW: Israeli sources are increasingly pointing to a possible U.S. ground operation against Iran, likely limited and focused on Kharg Island and the Strait of Hormuz. The objective would be clear: hit Iran’s oil lifeline and force Tehran back to the table.

@MattKleinman @fandompulse Not under the leadership of Jack Emmert, who ran 3 MMOs into the ground so far. STO will become the fourth I suppose. The only reason it survived thus far was because he fucking left. Now that he's back? zero chance. Emmert is truly the Man with the Mierdas Touch.

@CS3101 @fandompulse Actually, the game developers have been working to address those that they can, especially as the game has swapped most of the developers out. There's still a few people from the old guard, but they're STILL trying to address those issues.

Iran's CENTCOM just dropped the bombshell that you won't see on CNN and FOx News “For the past three weeks, our operations were maneuvers to explore the weaknesses of Israeli air defenses, and today we control Israeli airspace, and no one can intercept Iran’s missiles.”

$33.1M opening day with zero green screens. Read that again. Project Hail Mary cost $200 million to make. Lord and Miller built the entire Hail Mary spacecraft as a practical set. Thousands of physical buttons, hundreds of real screens, a hatch modeled after ISS designs. The alien, Rocky, is a full animatronic puppet designed by Neal Scanlan, the creature shop legend behind the best Star Wars practical work. Ryan Gosling acted against a real puppet in every single scene. The movie has 2,018 VFX shots. That sounds like a lot until you compare it to Avatar: Fire and Ash, which ran over 3,500. The difference: Avatar builds the world digitally and asks the audience to believe it. Project Hail Mary builds the world physically and uses VFX to clean up wires, remove puppeteers, and paint in space backgrounds. One approach creates spectacle. The other creates presence. This is a $200 million bet against the last 15 years of Hollywood production logic. After Avengers: Endgame, the industry standardized around green screen stages and digital environments because it was faster and cheaper per shot. Studios could reshoot entire sequences in post. The tradeoff was invisible until it wasn't: audiences started describing blockbusters as looking like "video games." Snow White's $42M opening. The Marvels at $46M. Quantumania. Ant-Man built on a soundstage that looked like it. Lord and Miller went the opposite direction and spent more money on physical construction than most studios spend on entire VFX pipelines. Greig Fraser, the cinematographer who shot Dune, lit the Hail Mary with practical lights so the camera could move freely through real corridors. When Gosling floats in zero-g, that's wire work, not simulation. When he touches a panel, it's a real panel. Guillermo del Toro saw the film and called the commitment to practical sets and puppets "a goal, an aspiration, and a commitment. Especially now." The "especially now" is doing all the work in that sentence. He's talking about an industry where the default response to a $200M budget is to minimize physical production and maximize digital flexibility. Project Hail Mary did the opposite and just posted the biggest non-franchise opening day in domestic box office history. The audience can tell. They've always been able to tell.

‘PROJECT HAIL MARY’ has earned $33.1M in the film's domestic opening day. Biggest domestic opening day ever for any non-franchise film. Read our review: bit.ly/DFMary

The dishwasher broke My wife said "good thing we have the home warranty" I said nothing I've been paying $62 a month for three years for this moment $2,232 for the peace of mind that when something breaks someone will come to the house and tell me it's not covered I called 47 minutes on hold They sent a technician Arrival window: Tuesday through Thursday between 8am and 5pm My analyst delivers faster than that And he still hasn't fixed the gridlines He showed up Wednesday at 4:47pm Looked at the dishwasher Opened the door Closed the door Touched something underneath Said "not covered" 90 seconds That's faster than my bank lets me prove I'm human I said "what's covered" He said "the motor" I said "what's wrong with it" He said "not the motor" I said "convenient" He said the service fee is $75 I paid a man $75 to open my dishwasher, close my dishwasher, and say two words My analyst could do that And he's not even that good I called the warranty company back 38 minutes on hold Requested the policy 129 pages I read all 129 pages Because that's what I do The coverage section is 34 pages The exclusions section is 58 The business model is right there In the margins Where nobody reads Except me Page 91 says "all mechanical and electrical components essential to appliance function are covered under standard service" Page 104 excludes control panels A control panel is an electrical component essential to appliance function Their own document contradicts itself 13 pages apart I highlighted both Sent them an email Subject line: "Plz fix. Thx." Attached both pages No other context Took them three days to send a technician Took them 4 hours to call me back when I found the loophole Funny how that works They covered the repair Waived the $75 And I canceled the warranty anyway Because a contract that contradicts itself isn't a contract It's a suggestion My wife said "so we're canceling" I said "we're canceling" She said "and the dishwasher" I said "fixed. They're covering it." She said "how" I said "I read the policy" She said "all 129 pages" I said "the exclusions section starts on page 47. The coverage section ends on page 34. There are 13 pages between them where they hoped nobody would look." She looked at me Then she said "you're unbelievable" I said "I just saved us $744 a year and got a free dishwasher repair. I'm not unbelievable. I'm thorough." She looked at the ceiling The dishwasher works now The warranty is canceled And the policy has been read By at least one person Probably the first Make common sense common again Plz fix. Thx. Paapa Essiedu says he's received death threats for being cast as Snape in HBO's 'Harry Potter' series “I’ve been told, ‘Quit or I’ll murder you" “The reality is that if I look at Instagram I will see somebody saying, ‘I’m going to come to your house and kill you' ... while I’m pretty sure I’m not going to be murdered ... That could age badly! But ... while I hope I’ll be OK, nobody should have to encounter this for doing their job" "Many people put their lives on the line in their work. I’m playing a wizard in Harry Potter. And I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t affect me emotionally" (via @thetimes)
