There is not an insignificant risk that the U.S. and Iran come away with a different understanding of what is/isn’t allowed in a high-level MOU. 🇺🇸🇮🇷🇶🇦 Iranian negotiators are demanding the immediate release of $12 billion in frozen assets held in Qatar as a precondition for advancing talks with the USA. Iran's Central Bank Governor, Abdolnaser Hemmati, traveled directly to Doha following meetings in Tehran with a mediating Qatari delegation. The Islamic regime insists that guaranteed, actual access to the $12 billion tranche must occur in the very first step of an agreement. The Qataris are clearly in talks with the IRGC, which is a designated terr*rist organization, and are trying to bribe them into reaching an agreement.

There is no path to victory for the United States, and no "spin" from Washington will be able to change this reality. The ending of this tragedy has already been written, and two things are now inevitable: The United States has lost the War in Iran, and will need to make significant monetary concessions to the tune of tens of billions of dollars or more. And Doing so is the correct decision at this point.
