Canada's been talking about affordable housing for years now. Dev fees and HST caused unnecessary pressures in pricing. A solution is being implemented and it's still twisted into something political. Give me a break. There's no HST on resale. Now none on new. This is good.

Plus $90 billion for a choo choo train that won’t break ground until 2030 & majority of Canadians will never use. @Captain4thTurn I've been calling for a correction since 2021. Although I agree there's more downturn I believe the downside is minimal (7-10%). Haven't been wrong yet, and my portfolio returning 30% YOY since 2016 is evidence of that.

@Captain4thTurn On new home sales it'll definitely make a difference. It puts a lot of homes back into an affordable range. If builders hike prices to pad their pockets it'll be shitty, but they likely won't sell if they do that.

@RishiKBakshi I think they never should have had the tax. I dont like the timing. Its a bail out when the whole thing needs to crash and burn. Oh well, probably wont make much of a difference.

@Captain4thTurn I read you complaining. I'm asking if you agree with the implementation or not. As well, fees don't inflate homes. That's thanks to cheap debt and an assignment frenzy. The fees themselves weren't directly correlated. If anything they just ate at builder profits.

I moved to Canada at the age of 25 alone to start over from nothing you cunt ! Had to rewrite all my plumbing and gas qualifications again in order to get where I am today . Now at the age of 36 I’m not doing so bad . I come from a poor area in the west of Scotland where my mum is a pharmacy dispenser and my dad is a painter !! You still stuck in your mum’s basement ?

And you should to with your young family, don't think you can vote yourself out of this. Thankfully I have critical thinking skills. I've seen the writting on the wall since I was 18.
