There is a misconception that many people carry around, and if it is not corrected, it may affect a lot of things in the future. Everything you are seeing today with Wikicat was worked for. Sir Mapy pushed himself. I remember when they went to churches to talk about Wikicat and get people involved. I remember when he traveled to meet with fathers of faith for prayers and blessings. These things did not just happen overnight. @sirmapy is a great man, but I am concerned that some members of the community are beginning to drive the wrong narratives. And when wrong narratives are not corrected, they eventually become accepted as truth. Before it was called SMC DAO, it had a different name (can't remember the exactly name as it were). The original idea as i was indoctrinated was to create a space where African developers could come together, interact, and hold one another accountable, especially to checkmate the issue of rug pulls. Sir Mapy led that early vision. He followed projects closely, took time to understand what people were building, and supported where he could. Sometimes, he would even invest and hold a portion of projects—not for hype, but as a form of belief and support. That was wisdom at play. He launched WKC as far back as 2022, before many of us—including $GTAN—came in around 2023. So naturally, he became someone many could look up to for guidance on cryptocurrency. Now let me be clear: I did not join because I was looking for any form of “covering,” as some people are wrongly suggesting. I joined because of a shared vision, to change the crypto space in Africa and to place Christ at the center of it all. Sir Mapy, from my interactions with him, is calm, understanding, and genuinely desires unity. He also have this believes that the sky is big enough for everyone to fly, and that is wisdom. Personally, I had a vision that I would work with him on a project, and that same day, I was added to the group, which i also shared with him. Even before many people heard about WKC, some of us had already committed ourselves to the vision not by force, but because we were led. The like of @ProphetJoelO who was the one who even called my attention to a project by name Wikicat. A story for another day. I will be honest, I once considered leaving the group because of how toxic some community members had become, and how they made other projects feel inferior, as though being outside SMC DAO made them irrelevant. But I stayed because I recognized the wisdom in the leadership, and because I understood my assignment there. The day that vision of unity is lost, or if the Lord instructs me otherwise, I will step away, not out of offense, but out of obedience. Sir Mapy, I kindly encourage you to continue educating members of the community. Many new people are joining, and they may not understand the full story. If we don’t guide the narrative, people will shape it wrongly based on personal interests. We all desire growth. We all want our projects to succeed. But we must ensure that we grow with the right mindset and the right narrative, or else when we get to the top, we may begin to fight one another unnecessarily. Let us build right. Let us grow right. I have read through every line of your post Prophet and on behalf of the ecosystem, I’m sorry if it has made you feel any type of way. GTAN is and will continue to be a big part of our ecosystem and building GTAN has encouraged more builders to see that it’s not just possible with Sir Mapy. Please ignore, there are many times I too go through this.
