“This Experience Will Not Repeat Itself” - Another Presidential Promise fails in less than 24 Hours. Less than 24 hours after President Tinubu stood at the Jos Plateau State airport on April 2, 2026, and promised the grieving Nigerian citizens, “I promise you that this experience will not repeat itself,” another brutal attack occurred in Nyamgo Gyel, Jos South LGA, resulting in the deaths of several innocent citizens. Since then, and only a week following that reassuring promise from the President, Nasarawa State has been plunged into grief as the Akyawa and Udege Kasa communities fled for their lives after gunmen killed at least 11 people. Many homes were reduced to ashes, and numerous families remain missing. In Zamfara State, 150 innocent Nigerians were abducted from the Kurfa Danya and Kurfan Magaji communities in one of the largest mass kidnappings in recent times. On the same day of the Zamfara kidnappings, terrorists in Borno State stormed Chibok, killing four officers and burning down homes. Yesterday, on Easter Sunday, Benue State was rocked by violence again, with over 17 Nigerians massacred, entire communities left in ruins, and many individuals still unaccounted for. Today, in Kaduna State, several innocent citizens were killed by terrorists inside churches, with many others abducted in the Ariko community of Kachia LGA. Yet we were told, “This experience will not repeat itself.” This represents a failure of leadership and responsibility, and sadly, Nigerians are paying for it with their lives. These attackers are not ghostly figures; our inaction emboldens them. How can a President make such a categorical promise and, mere hours later, the nation continues to count the dead across multiple states? The primary responsibility of any government is to protect lives and property; however, this responsibility is failing today. Nigerians are being slaughtered in their homes, in their communities, and in the very places they should feel safest. Even the President did not enter these communities, so who is truly safe in Nigeria? This is a national emergency. Nigeria is bleeding, and the situation is worsening and increasingly helpless. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Can Peace Reign in the land? What have we done wrong that has brought us this level of insecurity? When can peace reign in Plateau, Benue, Niger, Sokoto, Kwara, Kogi and all the other troubled states of our nation, or should we just accept now that security in some parts of Nigeria has become a norm and impossible to handle? Should we just give up and accept defeat and surrender to fear while our people continue to die and our communities are ravaged and destroyed? We cannot let this become the new normal. The violence is not inevitable, and peace is not impossible, it is the failure of leadership that has made it feel otherwise. We must demand action and refuse to accept a Nigeria where some states are abandoned to chaos. Silence is not an option. We must secure our nation before more lives are lost. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

My dear Nigerians, Today, April 2nd, is World Autism Awareness Day, a time to recognize and celebrate individuals on the autism spectrum. Autism is not a limitation; rather, it is a different way of experiencing the world. On April 4th, I will lend my voice in support of the 7KM Autism Awareness Walk taking place at Monolisa Park, R.B. Dikko Road, Central Business District, Abuja, alongside the Ria By Maria Autism Foundation team (@rbm_foundation). This initiative serves as a timely reminder that nation-building is not solely about infrastructure and economics; it is also about how we care for the most vulnerable among us. Promoting autism awareness, ensuring early diagnosis, and creating inclusive support systems are essential for building a compassionate and productive society. I commend the organizers for their commitment to advocacy and meaningful community impact. I encourage residents of Abuja and beyond to participate, support, and amplify this important cause. A better nation is possible when we leave no one behind. -PO

Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame. What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed. Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Yesterday, we commissioned Ultimum Beverages’ multimillion-dollar production facility in Aba, a landmark investment that reaffirms Abia State as a thriving hub for industry and innovation. This state-of-the-art plant, built by the Kadji Group, represents a bold commitment of over $35 million, with plans to scale up to $100 million. Beyond the impressive figures, this project is proof that Abia is back as an investment haven, a place where ideas flourish, businesses thrive, and opportunities abound. Since May 2023, our administration has worked tirelessly to reset the business ecosystem: strengthening infrastructure, restoring security, and creating a clean, supportive environment for investors. The confidence shown by Ultimum Beverages is a validation of these efforts, and a reminder that serious-minded investors always recognize where growth is assured. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Kadji Group for believing in Aba’s entrepreneurial spirit and for choosing Abia as their home for this transformative project. Together, we will protect and nurture every investment that brings prosperity to our people. Abia is rising. Abia is ready. Abia is open for business.

African Democratic Congress
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) strongly condemns the movement of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, around various polling units in Abuja under the guise of “monitoring.” Wike’s “monitoring” exercise, after unilaterally imposing a curfew on potential voters, represents direct interference in the election. He is not a registered voter in the FCT, and as a known partisan and cabinet minister, Wike has no constitutional role in the election exercise. His presence during active voting is therefore not only vexatious and meddlesome, but also risks intimidating voters and officials. In a similar vein, the ADC has received reports of voter suppression and intimidation in parts of the FCT, including alleged collaboration between APC agents and some security personnel. We also note disruptions to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV), which has remained inaccessible even as results are being collated. We find this a curious coincidence and call on INEC to urgently restore full IReV functionality, with a clear public explanation of the disruption. We urge all our party agents and voters to remain calm but vigilant, and to document all incidents.

Christmas and Our Shared Responsibility As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, I extend warm Christmas greetings to all Nigerians. Christmas is a season that calls us to reflect on the values of love, sacrifice, humility, and hope—values that are deeply needed in our nation today. The message of Christ’s birth reminds us that even in the most difficult circumstances, light can emerge, and renewal is always possible. This Christmas season comes at a time when many Nigerians are burdened by unprecedented economic hardship. I am deeply pained by the daily struggles of countless families who find it increasingly difficult to put food on the table or celebrate this season as they once did. Yet, the message of Christmas reassures us that even in the darkest moments, a star of hope can still shine, guiding us toward renewal and better days ahead. To those who feel forgotten by those in power, I want you to know that I see you. True leadership is not measured by the height of our skyscrapers or the growth of our stock markets but by how we uplift the most vulnerable among us. My pledge to you this season is a commitment to a future where dignity is not a luxury but a right; where opportunity reaches the remotest village and the most crowded street; and where no child goes to bed hungry in a land of plenty. The spirit of Christmas is found in solidarity. It is seen in the neighbour who shares what little they have and in the community that refuses to let anyone fall behind. Let us use this Christmas to renew our commitment to building a Nigeria where leadership is driven by service; where public resources are managed with prudence; and where every child has access to quality education, healthcare, and a dignified life. A Nigeria where our leaders are dedicated to pulling people out of poverty. As we celebrate with our families and loved ones, may the joy of Christmas inspire us to lead selfless lives and contribute, in whatever way we can, to the peace, unity, and progress of our dear country. I wish you a joyful Christmas and a New Year filled with hope, good health, and renewed determination to build the Nigeria of our dreams. Indeed, a new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Customs Upgrades Facilities, Boosts Staff Morale at Ondo/Ekiti Area Command The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ondo/Ekiti Area Command, has recorded a significant transformation in its operational environment following a comprehensive renovation of key facilities under the leadership of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Queen Obazee. In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs II Nzubechi Iheagwaram, on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, the renovation initiative was described as part of the Command's deliberate efforts to enhance service delivery, improve staff welfare, and strengthen institutional standards within the Command. According to the statement, the facelift projects included the complete renovation of the Command’s main office building, where faded walls were repainted to create a more functional, professional and welcoming work environment for officers and staff. Speaking on the initiative, Comptroller Queen said a conducive workplace plays a critical role in boosting productivity and morale. “Our officers deserve an environment that reflects the value of their service and commitment. When people work with dignity, it translates into professionalism, confidence and better service delivery,” she said. The statement noted that the renovation extended beyond office spaces to cover the Command’s chapel and mosque, both of which were fully refurbished to provide officers and staff with comfortable and dignified spaces for worship and reflection. The upgrades, according to the Command, are designed to support the mental and spiritual well-being of personnel. Also renovated was the Command’s perimeter fence, a development that enhanced both security and the overall outlook of the facility. The improved fencing was described as a practical step toward strengthening safety while projecting a positive institutional image to stakeholders and the general public. Officers of the Command have welcomed the development, noting that the improved environment has boosted morale and renewed their sense of pride and responsibility. The statement added that the upgrades have already begun to positively impact discipline, teamwork, and operational efficiency.

Dear Nigerians, PAY ATTENTION! Everyone knows education is a hill I can die on. The delectable Folorunso Alakija has done it! She just entered the Conservatory of the MEN WHO BUILT NIGERIA. This is ₦70 billion well spent, & I’m so excited! Now the students of Osun state university will receive quality education inside a world-class research center HOW COOL IS THAT? Congratulations to the people of Osun state & Famfa Oil for commissioning the (Modupe & Folorunso Alakija Medical Research & Training Hospital) donated to Osun State University. This is what I mean by CSR, Philanthropy, or Endowment. Billionaires commit to education endowments that moved America & China forward. Nigeria should be no different! Others can continue to use your own monies to go to Mecca. Where your heart lies? That’s going to determine the future of your people. I call on other USD billionaires to step forward, & join the Big Boy’s Club. Aliko Dangote & Famfa Oil just did. Now I want to see Femi Otedola, Michael Adenuga, Arthur Eze, Emeka Offor, Abdul Rabiu (BUA Group) & others join this (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). Attach your legacy to something larger than large. Write your name in Gold & hang it on college gates. Let it stand superimposing as a tribute to your legend. And when a roll call of the MEN & WOMEN WHO BUILT NIGERIA is read out? Your fame will feature permanently. Let posterity know you were here! Let your epitaph will stand forever! Do this, FOR THE GLORY OF NIGERIA! 👌

His daughter’s names are attached to this fantastic legacy, & couldn’t be more proud. Henceforth, Alhaji has become my darling, everyone knows education is the hill I can die on. If you come for Alhaji, I will come for you. This is a brand new initiative for Nigerian students, & it’s focused heavily on STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) in public universities/polytechnics. Applications are expected to be managed through official government education portals, or directly via foundation announcements. The requirement is a CGPA of 3.5+ So check the official Dangote Foundation website & the Nigerian Ministry of Education's channels for the exact application portals. Katsina Command Sensitises Officers on Diabetes to Mark World Diabetes Day The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Katsina Area Command has carried out a comprehensive health sensitisation and screening exercise aimed at raising awareness of diabetes prevention and early detection among its personnel as part of the global commemoration of the 2025 World Diabetes Day. The event, which held on Friday, 28 November 2025 at the Command’s Conference Hall, was organised by the Command’s Medical Unit in collaboration with the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN). It attracted strong participation from officers and men eager to learn more about managing long-term health risks. According to a statement issued on Tuesday, 2 December 2025 by the Public Relations Officer for the Command, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I Bello Isah, the programme featured medical lectures, nutrition counselling, and a range of diagnostic assessments. These included random and fasting blood sugar tests, blood pressure checks, and Body Mass Index (BMI) evaluations. Officers received individualised medical advice based on their results to help them adopt healthier habits. Speaking at the event, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Abba-Aji Idriss, who was represented by Deputy Comptroller Abdul-Aziz Kalgo, commended the Medical Unit and the Nutrition Society of Nigeria for organising the initiative. He emphasised the Service’s commitment to promoting preventive healthcare among its workforce. “The health and wellbeing of our officers remain a top priority. Diabetes and high blood pressure are silent killers that often go unnoticed until complications set in. That is why programmes like this are essential. We will continue to support medical outreaches to ensure our officers remain fit for national service,” he stated. The Medical Unit head, Superintendent of Customs, Dr. Abduljalal Umar, explained that the exercise was structured, not only to educate, but also to identify early cases of diabetes and hypertension. He noted that several officers with borderline readings had already been counseled and scheduled for follow-up care. He added that the goal is to detect early, educate effectively, and prevent complications. Chairman, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Katsina Chapter, Mr Suleiman Ibrahim Yan’taba, addressed participants and highlighted the importance of balanced diets, reduced sugar intake, physical activity, and regular health monitoring in preventing metabolic diseases.

That officer deserves a national award. Calm, firm, and collected while Wike was busy behaving like a TikTok skit maker. Wike called him a fool, and the soldier simply replied, “I’m not a fool, sir. I have integrity.” That line alone finished the argument. You could almost hear sense leaving Wike’s body. When wisdom failed, Wike switched to the big man script: “You were in primary school when I graduated.” That’s their emergency line when logic no longer works. The same playbook Umahi used on Rufai Oseni. Age has become their last remaining certificate. The man stood tall, kept his men in order, and showed what real discipline looks like. In that moment, Wike went low and the officer went high. Power met principle. One was shouting “Do you know who I am?” The other was quietly showing who he truly is. AAA

Yesterday, Friday, 7th November, I travelled to Enugu as part of my ongoing commitment to investing in education and healthcare — two critical pillars for lifting our people out of poverty and building a stronger, more productive nation. I visited the construction site of the Annunciation Hospital College of Nursing Sciences in Emene, Enugu State — an institution founded by the Daughters of Divine Love Congregation. During my visit, I expressed my gratitude to them for their compassion and dedication, and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their mission of providing better healthcare by raising competent and compassionate professionals who will contribute meaningfully to society. I made an additional donation of ₦20 million, bringing my total contribution towards the construction and equipping of the institution to ₦120 million. We cannot build a truly prosperous nation without prioritising these critical areas of development. The journey to a New Nigeria must be anchored on education, healthcare, and poverty eradication. Yesterday evening, Wednesday, 5th November, I visited the College of Nursing Sciences, Iyienu, Ikenga Ogidi, where I met with huge number of students of Medical Sciences Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Lab, Dentistry, and other related fields. I spoke to them about the importance of education and healthcare, reminding them that their chosen professions are essential to the service of humanity. I also made a ₦15 million donation to support their institution. No nation can rise beyond the quality of its education and healthcare systems. These two sectors remain the most effective tools for lifting people out of poverty and building a productive society. When we invest in education and healthcare, we empower minds and preserve lives. My commitment is to continue prioritizing these sectors, not as acts of charity, but as a deliberate investment in our shared future and in building a Nigeria where every citizen has the opportunity to prosper. Earlier today Tuesday 5th November, I continued my sustained support in the critical areas of development, education, and healthcare, which remain the most vital foundations for building a productive, healthy, and prosperous nation. I visited the College of Nursing Sciences, Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha, as part of my longstanding commitment to the development of the human capital of our dear nation through support for education and healthcare. I had meaningful interactions with the students, encouraging them to remain focused on their studies and to place education at the centre of their aspirations. Having supported the establishment of this institution, I have remained committed to its growth and development over the years. Today, I donated ₦15 million to further enhance their teaching and learning facilities. I then proceeded to the Practising School, Agulu, which was unfortunately gutted by fire last year and is currently appealing for support to aid its reconstruction. I inspected the facility and assured the school community of my commitment to ensuring that it is fully rebuilt. I also had encouraging interactions with the students and teachers, urging them to remain steadfast despite the challenges. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Supporting the College of Nursing Sciences, Oji River Today, I arrived in Enugu State from Lagos to visit the College of Nursing Sciences, Oji River, Enugu, following a call I received just yesterday about the school, from the Proprietor, Bishop Ikechukwu Joseph Egbuonu. I had the privilege of interacting with the students, reminding them that they have chosen one of the world’s most noble and vital professions. Nurses remain the backbone of every effective healthcare system, and their dedication continues to save lives daily. To support their learning environment and ensure continuity in training, I made a support of ₦10 million to assist the institution. Afterwards, accompanied by the Bishop, I visited the General Hospital, Oji River, Enugu which was previously owned by them. It was reassuring, however, to learn that Governor Peter Mbah has handed the facility back to the original Mission owners, and I thank him for such a noble gesture and encourage his continued support to ensure the hospital is quickly rehabilitated. That noble cause reminded me of my time as Governor of Anambra State, when we did the same, returning schools and hospitals to the voluntary agencies, who are the original founders. Many of those institutions have since grown from near collapse to becoming thriving institutions and facilities now some of the best in the country today. I commend the Bishop, Dr Ikechukwu Joseph Egbuonu, for his interest in education and healthcare, which play a critical role in shaping ethical and competent professionals in Nigeria and in advancing human development. My philosophy remains simple: when we invest in our people, schools, hospitals, and agricultural systems, we lay the foundation for a productive and prosperous nation. I remain committed to making modest contributions wherever possible, as we collectively work towards a Nigeria where every child can learn, every citizen can access quality healthcare, and every community can thrive.
