Comic Pause

Decided to do a read-through of each Tim Drake series, starting from the very beginning. Robin III was much more engrossing than I remembered, with some really great drama in Tim’s “normal” life. It’s great reading stories from when he was an interesting, well-written character.

One of the best turtles covers I’ve seen in a long time. A master of his craft.

People sometimes think DC and Marvel folks each want the other team to fail but the opposite is true. Both root for each other. Comics work best when both companies are firing on all cylinders.

@TripleAAAkers7 Zack Snyder accidentally made a good Watchmen adaptation by leaning into the silliness of superhero films. He didn’t get the material at all, but still got it right as far as a “deconstruction of the genre” goes.

this film is all sauce and no substance, but also what gives the film sauce is antithetical to what Watchmen should be. it’s like if you tried to make spaghetti but instead of marinara you used chocolate syrup and completely forgot the noodles

To be entirely fair, Hal Jordan is stupid, so of course his Green Lantern suit would be… not green.

@seanpaune @ERCboxoffice So many shows, movies, and specials. Last I checked, they’re even missing one of the main WDAS films. It’s a great service that I regularly use, but it could and should be so much better.

Remember when Disney+ began and there was SO MUCH new content on the streamer? Now, you're lucky to get one or two series (or maybe just a couple specials) a month, and most of those are Marvel. So what you're paying for monthly is...access to old content...that you probably used to own outright. Are you okay with this, or do you feel Disney did you dirty?

At long last, JLA/Avengers is being reprinted, with each issue being re-released in a facsimile edition beginning this May. Hopefully that means there will be a new trade too, so everyone can own one of the greatest DC AND Marvel stories to ever hit the stands.
