@Compleatdm
The Compleat DM on Substack I talk about games that bore most people. Writing a novel serial called METLHED, bloody-pulp fiction inspired by boomer shooters.

@oggm_adventures This is coming from a man who relies on AI to give him the Coles Notes on game she has never played so he can relay them as deep knowledge. Everything he has to say about games is completely irrelevant.

@Compleatdm Wotc did not invent raw. What a hipocrit idiot

@RobNecronomicon @micpewpew ? If so, Condor could play for ten thousand more years and still wouldn't be good enough to be giving Mike advice on how to run games.
English

@Compleatdm Yeah, what a moron!
BTW, did you see the vid where he tried to school that Mike OSR guy on his GMing skills??😂 He made an unsolicited advice vid criticizing Mike's online shadowdark game. Only a horrible narcissist would do such a thing.

@Dungeoneerhere @DunderMoose The best thing that's ever happened to California

King here doing the dance of bullet death. I could watch STG play like this all day. The problem when I watch too much or play too much is that when I close my eyes I can still see streams of bullets for awhile. Same as the Tetris effect or "Pac-Man Fever".

@coldhate666 It is, to me, it's similar to writing fiction. I write a lot but my writing improved substantially when reading non-fiction because reality informs stories. Same with music, if you just listen to the kind of music you are writing, you can stagnate quickly.

@ThePaladinForge @CBR It should say "Paramount is having mercy on Voyager fans by cancelling their dumb show"

Fans are missing out on a Star Trek: Voyager sequel episode thanks to Starfleet Academy getting axed by Paramount+. cbr.com/star-trek-star…

@0ldSch00l13 AD&D and Traveller5 to me are incredible tools to facilitate GM growth and act as a template of operations for running complex campaigns so they have eternal value. But I agree, I do like small press games that are more limited in scope. Dragonbane is a favorite.

@0ldSch00l13 @DunderMoose @arrnonymous_ With sufficiently developed and maintained systems of automation storytelling has no place. Whether desired or not it simply isn't necessary. Active play informs the Watercooler stories.
English

@DunderMoose @Compleatdm @arrnonymous_ Or what you do when you get together years later.
"Remember that time we fought Gargoyles for an hour and then Jimmy asked if we needed magic weapons to damage them?"
English

@0ldSch00l13 @Compleatdm @arrnonymous_ Storytelling is what your players do around the water cooler at work the next day.
English

This goes to something @DunderMoose was saying earlier. I'm no longer interested in games with the traditional GM/Player structure. I prefer to look at them as a machine with human parts whose roles are to add to a developing milieu through play.
