When Mary with Jesus in Her blessed womb visits Elizabeth, the latter calls her "Mother of my Lord", she says: "And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me (Lk, 1,43). The original in Greek says: " καὶ πόθεν μοι τοῦτο ἵνα ἔλθῃ ἡ μήτηρ τοῦ κυρίου μου πρὸς ⸀ἐμέ". "Mother of my Lord" is in Greek "ἡ μήτηρ τοῦ κυρίου μου" (it reads: è metèr tu Kiriu mu). Luke uses the term κυρίου(Kiriou), genitive case, complement of specification of the nominative "κύριος" (Kyrios). Kyrios is the term that in Greek corresponds EXACTLY to the Hebrew "Adonai", and this is the name that the Jews used and use because it's forbidden to them to pronounce the sacred tetragrammaton "Jahwé". Please note also that in the Mass we pray "Kyrie eleison" (Lord have mercy). Then Luke, using that term, makes Elizabeth say that Mary is the Mother of the Most High, Mother of God (Adonai in Hebrew), not simply the biological mother of Jesus. P.S.: In the previous verse of Luke Elisabeth says: "Most blessed are you among women" (what we pray in the Hail Marys). Mary is not a woman like all others. It's written in the Bible 🙂, exactly what the "Sola Scriptura" fans should not fail to believe.

Don't forget that the Virgin Mary appearing in Lourdes suggested to pray the sixth decade to the souls in Purgatory (she appeared with a Rosary of six decades, an approval to the local pious practice of praying the sixth decade for souls of Purgatory, and an invitation to us to do the same). Since 1995 I have never been praying five decades, always six. I've lost your magical number since...

The artificial introduction of the Luminous Mysteries is quite a good illustration of the two mentalities which divide the Church. On the one hand, we have a practice which is connected both to the reciting of 150 psalms and to the vision of St Dominic. It has evolved with the addition of the petition, and following fatima, the common but optional practice of addiing the Fatima prayer. But the basic structure of 150 hail Marys, divided into 15 mysteries divided into a trinity of joyful, sorrowful and glorious which so well reflect the experience of Catholic life remained unchanged for seven centuries. On the other, you have the guys who always think they've got a better idea. So out goes the connection with the psalms, out goes the rosary hallowed by Marian revelation, and in comes a set of no doubt worthy meditations, designed by enthusiasts to make sense of the gap in Jesus' ministry perceived in the original mysteries. Of course the Pope who introduced them beatified the man who thought them up. Of course they are optional. But somehow, one more aspect of the old faith has been pushed out of the doorway, and one more division of the church ushered in.

You can't call a pope a "vandal" - you'll answer to God for this blunder amd insult. It would have been different if they had changed the Hail Mary as Bugnini wanted to do, or if they changed the structure of the Rosary (for example 7 Hail Marys instead of 10). Adding five more mysteries doesn't change a bit. I thank God that I still love Tradition and the Holy Mass of all times despite traditionalists.

I know a FSSP priest who told me that he prays the luminous misteries privately on Thursdays. The reason? The same as mine. You can meditate with Mary on the founding of the Eucharist, for example, which is most important in a time that precedes the abolition of the Sacrifice (by the false Church). Hardcore traditionalists are so bound to human traditions, which makes Tradition (with capital T) a joke in th eyes of the majority of Catholics. In the eleventh century it wasn't necessary, in the twemty-first it is necessary.

Tre giorni nel Golfo Persico a farsi le vacanze di Pasqua con la figlia, a spese nostre. Trentamila euro di spese varie. Historically true (apart from the modern language), however, collective guilt doesn't belong to Christianity. Everybody answers for his/her/their own sins, and Jews after Jesus's death cannot be held accountable for His death on the Cross. They are guilty for not believing in the divinity of Jesus, however that is not a collective guilt, either. Everybody answers for his/her/their infidelities, and that includes us too. Even Cardinal Galen from Munster in one of his famous sermons said that Jesus crying over Jerusalem meant that he's crying over us too. We cannot judge the Jews, we are guilty too.

No. The Gospels (Matt 27, Mk 15, Lk 23, Jn 18-19) say Pilate interrogated Jesus, declared him innocent three times, and tried to release him (offering Barabbas as a Passover custom). He yielded only after the chief priests and Jerusalem crowd demanded crucifixion and threatened to report him to Caesar. "Israel Lobby" is modern U.S. political slang for pro-Israel advocacy groups today. It didn't exist in Roman Judea in 33 AD. The pressure was from local religious leaders and a mob—not a lobby.
