@Corca_math

Collaborative Math Editor. Typing math should be as natural as typing text or code. 💬 https://t.co/wYYHFlDKkJ

Text is a string. Math isn’t. It grows in every direction into multi-line structures. That’s why people still do math on paper. We’re bringing that experience to computers. Corca is WYSIWYG math editor, and it's fast!

@Corca_math Instead of building a new editor, I think it would be more impactful to make this a browser extension that works with Overleaf and other editors :) The extension could open a pop-up where users enter an equation, then export it directly as LaTeX or MathML.

We stopped writing text on paper years ago. But when it comes to math, we still use it. Not out of love for paper, just because typing math is slow and painful. Corca is as fast as paper, but can also CALCULATE.

@Corca_math Looks nice! I've wanted to build something like this for years but it felt a bit too overwhelming :)

@Corca_math I'm unsure how to write and export multi-line formulas, auto-calculation doesn't seem enabled, and IME support is subpar—I just want to select words with Enter, but it gets recognized as auto-complete.

@InfoSpaceScof No, but you can import Obsidian docs into Corca. Just drag and drop them into the left panel

@Corca_math I think it might be in the autosave function. I had written a great deal in one draft, and then exported it to pdf, but it didn't show up there So I refreshed the page, and only the parts in the pdf remained in the draft

@Corca_math Love the workflow, but i noticed that the pdf export is bugged out. I tried it out, and the math isnt rendering in the pdf.

@Jess_Riedel Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Anyway, it won’t be a serif font like in LaTeX. We want something more modern, closer to blackboard writing. We’re still working on it, and it’s changing every day

@Corca_math Good one! :-)I hope you can do it and create a nice PC-based math editor with printing! Let's end the SaaS scam! You can do it, good luck! 💪🚀🚀

@real_mark_one @nikitadrokin We’re thinking about open source. Right now we’re in a research phase, with many changes and experiments, so it’s too early to open source anything

@nikitadrokin @Corca_math Whichever way they go, Corca is the most elegant math typing solution I’ve seen to date, so let’s hope they open their platform up one way or another!
