There seems to be some confusion about the SAVE America Act. If it becomes law, you will NOT be able to vote with your drivers license alone. You’d need: 1. A passport, which more than half of Americans don’t have and costs at least $130 OR 2. A birth certificate PLUS your photo ID with matching names, which nearly 70 million married women lack OR 3. Military services papers (not a military ID alone) with sensitive info. I’m voting NO.

Funny how Americans joke about not comprehending driving 84 hours and still being in France…
But no one brings up why the U.S. interstate system was never about connecting people.
It was designed during the Cold War to enable military mobilization, not civilian travel. That’s why so many highways mysteriously bypass cities—or end in “nowhere” zones next to federal sites.
Look up the 1956 Federal-Aid Highway Act. Buried in the appendix:
“Routes selected to ensure survivability of command infrastructure under threat.”
Not about freedom. About continuity of government.
Meanwhile, Europe rebuilt roads to stitch post-war societies.
The U.S. built them to survive a nuclear first strike.
So maybe Americans can’t comprehend France’s driving time…
Because their roads were never meant for that kind of journey.
This barely made it into the curriculum.
