Success is like a ladder which one can't climb with their hands inside the pocket; Man's success is through seeing possibilities where others see impossibilities.

Remember how high school kids reacted to the Peak “Tebakusobola” Yung Mulo of 2012 ? Tojo 256 and Etania command such a force in these schools, today. This isn’t a woggos tweet.

Schools used to have debates every Wednesday during club meetings: "Rural life is better than urban life." "Day schools are better than boarding schools." "The government is better than the opposition." "Mr Speaker, Sir, I urge my opponents to cross the floor." These debates were simulating parliamentary debates. This taught students, • Public speaking skills. • Communication skills. • Negotiation skills. • Critical thinking skills. In addition, these school debates, coupled with the GHC subject, were a form of civic education. But the education system destroyed these activities because it created students who were politically conscious and enlightened. The system wants you to remain ignorant so that it can control you. Bring the school debates back!

Yesterday in Kitaka Zone, Nateete – we had another powerful fireside chat. Survivors and youth spoke openly about SGBV. We shared safe ways to report and get help. So many women in Nateete stay silent after violence because they fear of blame from family, the fear of the abuser returns, and stigma hurts more than the wound. We talked about this openly yesterday with the community members.

Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, teenage pregnancy, and early marriage significantly heighten girls' vulnerability to HIV infection by creating cycles of power imbalance, limited agency, and unsafe sexual practices.

In the bustling community of Kitaka Zone in Nateete, many young girls grow up facing a tough cycle of sexual and gender-based violence, early marriage, and teenage pregnancy that puts their health and dreams at serious risk. A girl here might face pressure, force, or abuse that takes away her power to say no or stay safe, sometimes pushing her into early marriage or an unexpected pregnancy when she is still so young. These hard experiences often lead to unsafe situations again and again, raising the chance of getting HIV or other infections, along with dangers like complicated births, ongoing pain from injuries, deep sadness, fear, and feeling completely alone. When married too early, she may stay stuck in a home with more control and violence, missing out on school, doctors, or people to turn to, which keeps hardship going for her and any children she has. Teenage pregnancy—from abuse, pressure, or not knowing enough—usually means leaving school behind and taking on big responsibilities far too soon, shutting the door on her hopes and freedom. To break free from this pain in our Kitaka Zone and Nateete neighborhoods, we need everyone to join in: talking openly to change old harmful ideas, making sure health help like protection and counseling is easy to get, teaching girls about their rights so they can stand up for themselves, and giving quick, real support to anyone who speaks out—so every girl here can grow up feeling safe, healthy, and able to build the bright future she deserves. A community shared insights about her community with passion and thank you Kitaka Zone for hosting us, your voices matter.

🌍Sensitisation in Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement "We appreciate the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board for taking the time to engage with our students and share such vital information. Equipping students with this knowledge is essential in today’s digital world and can truly make a difference." Mr. Fernansio Okot, Deputy Head Teacher, Panyandoli Self Help Secondary School. @lgrb_uganda is glad to have the school administration on board in sensitising young people against underage gaming. We may not reach everyone at the same time, but we won’t leave anyone behind in gaming awareness. #ResponsibleGamingUg #SayNoToUnderageGaming
