@CourageousOp

If you agree I am very serious. If you disagree, I'm just joking around.

It’s just so unnecessarily bitter. One of the greatest moments in Canadian sports history, one that’ll no doubt have thousands of kids trying to replicate Eustaquio’s goal, and Troy Deeney thinks there should be golf claps. It’s the bloody World Cup and Canada created history.

While you are enjoying the World Cup this weekend, just remember that FIFA is a cesspool of corruption. Qatar bribed and bought the right to host the games. And the FIFA chief is a Qatari tool. Now go back to enjoying hockey on grass without fighting.

@camkasky Why should anybody care about what you think about Israel? Because you used your dead classmates to get famous?

Achraf Hakimi 🇲🇦 🎙️ : “We focus so much on Brazil, France, and Spain, but as Arabs and Africans, we often forget that we grew up playing football in the streets. That gives us intelligence and creativity on the pitch. Mohamed Salah is a perfect example of that.”

Regardless of the political situation, it is embarrassing for FIFA to have had a participant in a #WorldCup be so disadvantaged as Iran have been. Iranian players have done themselves proud in difficult circumstances.

@johnpavlovitz But they say they won’t allow the old Iranian monarchy flag because it’s a political symbol. If there’s freedom then allow all flags.

Not playing to win is shameful and I am cheering against both Austria and Algeria the rest of the tournament. Fuck you both.

@bitaviani @FIFAcom So the goal of soccer is to win the game. Iran failed to win any games. Because they’re a nation of losers! Hope this helps!

It feels a bit distasteful and ironic if Algeria secure a berth to the knockout stages by mutual agreement with the Austrians Not exactly a Shame of Kansas City, these teams gave it a go for 70 minutes, and you understand the calculus, but not nice to see

I do think FIFA and the U.S., as hosts, handled Iran’s soccer team poorly. Maybe I’m naive, but sport and politics shouldn’t be mixed this way. Restricting access for fans with questionable histories makes sense. But the team, staff, and logistical support should be treated differently — more like diplomats than political pawns.

Infantinto's FIFA has effectively joined the U.S. war on Iran, and allows U.S. to impose its xenophobic immigration policies to limit access to the tournament by teams and citizens of member countries. He's openly embraced his role as a mascot in Trump's "Board of Peace" farce

Mehdi Taremi confirms that Iran has to fly back to Tijuana tonight. Their flight is around midnight. They had hoped to stay the night in Seattle. They were staying at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. “It’s a disaster World Cup,” he said. “It’s a disaster.”

I will continue to argue the top 5 stadiums (character & aesthetic wise) at this World Cup are outside of the U.S. Mexico obv, BC Place is beautiful, and Toronto has much more character (and better sightlines/distance to pitch) than the American NFL palaces
TSN@TSN_Sports

“The city of Vancouver, I’ve only been here a short stay, but I have to say it was a really nice stadium to play. It feels like a real football stadium for me, the other two are massive, but you have all the NFL feeling, so I think for us it’s really nice. You felt it on the pitch, it's a bit different, so it was a pleasure.” Some high praise from Kevin De Bruyne! #FIFAWorldCup (H/T: FWC26Vancouver)

When the Iranian World Cup football team is the only one out of 64 that has to camp outside of the United States before and after its games within the United States and when just coincidentally the Iranian team has had the MOST disallowed goals of any other team in the World Cup – – meaning they scored and then FIFA took back the point– – one can’t deny that the Iranian team is being targeted and handicapped by the US. I’m embarrassed of my country but then again I have been ever since Trump became any kind of a so-called president. This is so disgusting.
