Israel pushed for the war in Iran because it's already planning for a future without the US, according to British-Israeli political analyst Daniel Levy. He said the apartheid state wants to create a new power structure in the Middle East that depends on Israel as the core player.

Counterproductive only if your goal is to achieve a political settlement. That may be what the US wants/needs, but Israel (which is doing these killings) is looking to prevent that, instead it seeks to hobble and dismember Iran as a nation state theguardian.com/world/2026/mar…

Smug dolt GW Bush once declared we can't risk the world's worst weapons being in the hands of the world's worst leaders. Who has nukes today? Trump, Putin, Macron, Starmer, Xi, Netanyahu, Modi, Pakistan's military, Kim Jong Il. Feel safe? ft.com/content/ba5f71… via @ft

All of Israel's defenders and enablers in the liberal West have enabled this norm -- the Israeli philosopher Yehashayu Leibowitz warned in 1989 that Israel's settler colonialism was breeding what he called a "Judeo-Nazi" spirit. This is Israel, there is no other

CNN interviewed Qusai Abu al-Kebash, a 29-year-old Palestinian shepherd, who was sexually assaulted by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank village of Khirbet Humsa. He told @JDiamond1 that settlers zip-tied his genitals, paraded him through the village while beating him, threatened to rape women, assaulted children, and stole hundreds of his sheep.

Attention Western leaders: Netanyahu is a wanted war criminal, you all declined to stop Israel's genocide in Gaza, to restrain its rabid criminality or hold it accountable. That has enabled it to start a war that will tank the world economy. Congratulations

Israel has trapped him into escalating a disastrous unprovoked war - remember when he expressed surprise it was killing Iranians he had planned to do a deal with? Does he think that was accidental? Israel will run Trump's war unless he shuts down its freedom of action

Reminded of an old American folksong noting the use of red-baiting to quash all civil-/labor-rights activism - "You ain't done nothin if you ain't been called a Red". In Greenblatt's Apartheid Defense League version, for "Red", substitute "Anti-Semite"...
Ounka@OunkaOnX

CNBC: "Did Israel pull America into the war on Iran?" ADL's Greenblatt: "Let's talk about antisemitism." Greenblatt's deflection is the oldest trick in the book: when criticized, cry antisemitism. It used to work. But the book is closed now.

Trump’s lies about an Iran nuclear threat were clearly made in Israel or its by its minions, not by the U.S. national security system aje.news/48zfd2

Exactly. And not only for Jews: The calamitous unprovoked war into which it goaded Trump also shows how dangerous Israel is to the wider world / Israel Has Become Dangerous for Jews Around the World haaretz.com/opinion/2026-0…

Hezbollah goes back to the guerrilla basics that forced Israel out in 1999, after a 17-year occupation
Shaiel Ben-Ephraim@academic_la

Hezbollah has completely shifted its tactics from previous rounds of combat with Israel. This has led to a very different confrontation this time: 1) They moved from a a centralized model, with large weapons depots that allowed them to quickly mass-coordinate massive rocket barrages to wide dispersal. 2) There are now hundreds of small hiding spots across villages and homes are exponentially harder to map and monitor than a handful of large depots. This means that destroying one cache no longer cripples a whole sector's firing capability. 3) This structure has allowed them to maintain a steady volume of attacks, often executing dozens of "waves" per day. This suggests they have pre-positioned "fire-and-forget" kits that allow even small cells to maintain pressure without constant restocking from central hubs. 4) The downside for them is that coordinating a simultaneous large barrage from dozens of dispersed locations is logistically very complex. Communication and coordination between scattered cells creates more exposure points. 5) To counter Israel’s electronic surveillance and previous infiltration of communication networks (like the 2024 pager explosions), Hezbollah has reverted to guerrilla-style communication. This includes banning mobile phones in the field and using human couriers or closed, hard-wired systems to minimize their digital footprint. 6) Dispersing weapons into private homes in Shia villages is a well-documented Hezbollah tactic going back years, but doing it at this scale is notable. It complicates Israeli targeting legally and politically, and puts Lebanese civilians in genuine danger. 7) Beyond rockets, Hezbollah is increasingly relying on UAVs for both reconnaissance and suicide strikes. These are harder to intercept than standard rockets and allow for "loitering" threats that complicate Israeli air defense calculations. All of these elements leave the IDF feeling like they are hunting for ghosts. The IDF Intelligence Directorate have admitted that this decentralized model creates "operational gaps," particularly in tracking small, mobile anti-tank teams and low-flying drone units that slip past traditional radar.
