🚨I’ll tell you what’s next on @coinbase for defi with a simple intuitive interface Coinbase will add tokenized stock trading via $Ondo This isn’t even a secret anymore, $Ondo even told you how it’s going to work: When a client purchases a security at Ondo GM, she will be given a token. For instance, consider Alice, a client of Ondo GM, who wishes to purchase TSLA (Tesla Inc) stock. Alice can fund her account (on coinbase) with stablecoins or fiat and then instruct Ondo GM—via smart contract call, API, or web app (such as coinbase)—to purchase TSLA. Ondo GM will promptly purchase TSLA at Nasdaq and hold the shares in its broker-dealer’s account (ultimately at the DTC). In return, Alice will receive TSLA tokens (tTSLA) with transfer restrictions that limit transfer to addresses associated with other Ondo GM clients (other users within coinbase) Alice could send her tTSLA tokens to someone else who is also a client of Ondo GM (anyone on coinbase), and Ondo GM would observe that token transfer and treat it as authoritative settlement instructions to initiate an intra-broker-dealer transfer of shares (i.e. within the authoritative books and record of Ondo GM’s broker-dealer).  If said too much as is.
