These periods of in-person collaborative work are extremely important to DAACS’s mission, and we are lucky to have benefited from every person’s knowledge this summer. DAACS is looking forward to more upcoming collaborations. Keep checking our social media for more opportunities!

July was a busy month at DAACS! We hosted an excellent group of scholars and friends for a month-long DAACS Summer Institute at Monticello. DAACS staff conducted training for field record digitization and material culture analysis. #daacs #monticello #daacssummerinstitute

We covered everything from small finds, beads, and buckles to bottle glass, tobacco pipes, and ceramics. Thanks to Dr. Lindsay Bloch, we spent a large portion of the month studying and typing coarse earthenwares at each visiting scholar’s site! So many cool sherds!
